> 24 hourThe S1A is a good filter, but be careful when ordering. If you select the 4-pk, you will be ordering a different filter due to a system glitch and may not notice - based on first hand experience.

> 24 hourThe original CP5-BBS cellulose cartridges I previously purchased and used performed well in our whole-house, big blue filter housing. They maintained their shape and kept the output water sediment-free. The currently manufactured filter cartridges do not maintain that performance, and apparently Culligan knows that. If you read the current label from the manufacturer, it states that the cartridge is NOT recommended for use with untreated well water. It also says the filter cartridges are assembled in China. (I do not know if that is a contributing reason, but merely add that observation.) I find the cellulose material in the current batch of filters quickly saturates, gets soft and mushy, and falls apart. The outer filter material collapses and renders the filter useless, while the inner diameter structure remains intact. Consequently, the filter cartridge must be replaced much more frequently than in the past. Past filters DID provide the labeled 3 months cartridge life; the current filters must be changed after 4-5 weeks, under the same water demands. When initially installed, these filters do filter out the offending sediment from our well water. They just do not last! Ill finish using the filters I have in-hand, at the much shorter useful life, and find a more robust designed filter cartridge filter for the future.

> 24 hourIts a water filter for heavy mineral well water. Most people use one a month. Our well water has high rust so we use one a week.

> 24 hourI purchased this product in May 2013 to filter very fine sediments from my water well, which I use for my fogging system in the farm. At the same time, we use it also for our water consumption, so it is important to remove scale, silt and dirt. Because the fogging nozzles I am using are very sensitive to sediments that are bigger than 10 microns, I used the Culligan CP5-BBS Level 4 Heavy Duty Sediment Cartridge, enclosed in a Culligan HD-950A 1-Inch Outlet/Inlet Heavy Duty Sediment Water Filter Housing, because it filters up to 5 microns. Since then I never had problems with my fogging system. I am very impressed with the result. After 2 years of using it, I decided to write a review. While installing it 2 years ago, I was worried that this product would slow down the water flow rate, much lower than our desired 18-20 gallons per minute, which would then be detrimental to our fogging machine. But it turned out that this product has a high flow rate. Today, I am buying another 4 of this cartridge, good for another year of supply. I would definitely recommend this product together with the Culligan HD-950A water filter housing to anyone who is using a fogging system for greenhouse plants, and to anyone who has issues with the quality of their water.

> 24 hourThis filter works very well, for catching sediment the occurs naturally in spring and well water. Depending on the amount of sediment, in which I have little sediment and more iron the filter last about 3 months. That’s pretty good, you will get two filters in a pack for less then 9$, so that’s under 20$ a year for clean water, and bright whites.

> 24 hourEven though not recommended for untreated well water, Ive found this filter to be highly effective. We havent had any problems. They remove much more sediment than the R50-BBSA filter (50 micron). Before switching, washing cars left a noticeable haze on the finish. Using these, that haze is almost gone. Our well supplies two houses, lawns, gardens, and up to 300 head of cattle, so it gets a workout. We use two, plumbed in parallel and getting around 6 weeks before replacement. Once they start to plug the flow rate drops off faster than the R50-BBSA. What I expect with a finer filter.
