Cyberlink PhotoDirector 7 Ultra

Not very impressed with this program. Worth the money to just buy photoshop or use an online editing program. This program freezes on me all the time and is not very user friendly.

I am ranking this 4 stars at this time because I only recently purchased this for my husband who is a photography hobbyist, taking many aerial photos with Go Pro attached to a Kite. So far he likes this software but needs to spend more time really using all the features--he hasnt really scratched the surface yet. The good news is he hasnt given up out of frustration so that tells me its pretty easy to use, and thats huge with software. I will do another review in 30 days. Right now I would have to say I recommend it.

This program is a joke, and is not user friendly

I am so angry. I just purchased 10 mins ago, I clicked on the MAC icon twice to get it to accept. It finally did and I paid for it. When I went to pay for it and download it on my computer, it gives me this long spill that it is for a windows computer not a mac. I am demanding my money back, This is false advertisement and you can not do that. I have already spoken with our corp attorney and he advises that you return the money. I had high hopes for this program. I have been looking for a NON-Adobe product that does more to enhance my photographs than the free program I currently have. This promised great potential, since it is supposed to allow you to layer images, substitute faces, etc.; however, I did not find it lived up to my expectations.

This is a high-end photo editing program that consolidates many features offered by several other specialty photo editing programs that I use, yet I found the user interface intuitive and reasonably easy to master. It runs just fine on my Dell Inspiron 64 bit Windows 7 laptop computer, isnt too much of a resource hog and doesnt try to take over my computer. Like other high-end photo editing programs Cyber link Photo Director 7 Ultra gives me the tools to adjust color balance, contrast, brightness, sharpness and do retouching and face/body enhancements. Unlike several of my other photo editing programs, Cyber link Photo Director 7 Ultra will import my RAW photo files, giving me the power to edit their much richer content.

This is my initial take on this edition of Cyber Link Photo Director 7 Ultra, to satisfy the needs required by Amazon Vine.

As a professional software developer who spent many years maintaining a cross-platform drawing application, I can appreciate the huge amount of effort that results in such a smooth and feature filled software package. Back in the day, we didnt have the need for terms like design language, typography, or workflow. Thankfully, we no longer live back in the day, and we have nice, pleasant, easy to use apps like this.

When choosing between this and Photoshop & Lightroom it was real close, but ultimately not having to pay a subscription fee pushed me over to Cyberlink PhotoDirector. It has many of the same feat as Adobe, and Ive found it fairly intuitive. Plus paying less than $50 for it made it a steal.

Incredibly slow software, frustrating to use (unintuitive), buggy (cant find faces in photos that clearly contain faces, meanwhile thinking a pair of shoes is a face).
