This is my initial take on this edition of Cyber Link Photo Director 7 Ultra, to satisfy the needs required by Amazon Vine.

I am so angry. I just purchased 10 mins ago, I clicked on the MAC icon twice to get it to accept. It finally did and I paid for it. When I went to pay for it and download it on my computer, it gives me this long spill that it is for a windows computer not a mac. I am demanding my money back, This is false advertisement and you can not do that. I have already spoken with our corp attorney and he advises that you return the money. What you are doing is illegal. Shelia Hudgins [email protected]

After downloading and trialing nearly a dozen photo programs to replace Picasa (which is no longer supported by Google), PhotoDirector and Lightroom rose to the top. Note: I see a lot of one star reviews. These days, I wonder about anyone who purchases software without trialing it first to see if it works on their machine and if they like it. Life is too short - if the trial software doesnt work on your computer, uninstall it and move on.

The key functionalities offered by the Cyberlink PD7 Ultra are available in Adobe Photoshop Elements, but the design is more friendly on the eyes. Cyberlink needs lower their price to be comparable to Elements before they will find a successful product.

Incredibly slow software, frustrating to use (unintuitive), buggy (cant find faces in photos that clearly contain faces, meanwhile thinking a pair of shoes is a face).

When choosing between this and Photoshop & Lightroom it was real close, but ultimately not having to pay a subscription fee pushed me over to Cyberlink PhotoDirector. It has many of the same feat as Adobe, and Ive found it fairly intuitive. Plus paying less than $50 for it made it a steal.

Not very impressed with this program. Worth the money to just buy photoshop or use an online editing program. This program freezes on me all the time and is not very user friendly.

First, let me state that Ive been a big fan of Cyberlinks Director Suite and have purchased several over the years. In addition, while occasionally glitchy, PowerDirector, ColorDirector & to a lesser extent-- AudioDirector are reliable and easy to use tools for producing great video.

The technical support is among the worse Ive ever experienced. My question was this: the software was not recognizing my camera for importing files, although Windows recognized that the camera was connected. There was an alternate way to import photos, but they would have to be imported one at a time, rather than all the photos on the camera at once. I emailed support (through their web interface) and received a canned answer that clearly didnt address my problem. I replied to them, and they ignored my reply.
