> 3 dayWe bought this alarm last fall, and I wonder how we lived without it now. We have a long driveway, and I love the security of knowing when anyone is coming up the drive. It was easy to set up.

> 3 dayI had been shopping and reading reviews for the perfect detector for quit some time. My previous one was no longer available. Company went out of business. This detector ad said it would do all that I needed. Wireless, battery in detector and plug in electric receiver. After installing, I just needed to adjust the detector, it was picking up the neighbor mowing his lawn. I love this unit. It has many sounds you can use. Mine sounded too much like my door bell, so I adjusted that. So very easy to install and make adjustments, and definitely works as advertised. It arrived a day sooner than expected, with package in perfect condition. I would purchase from this company again.

Greater than one weekDakota continues to be the best choice in remote alarms. I have been using them for over 10 years. This new line of products is even better than before and the range is unbelievable. Match one or two base stations and a remote if needed. The entire system is easy to program and install. I highly recommend it and Im NOT getting compensated for this review.

> 3 dayDriveway alarm purchased to detect cars - apparently only works well if the car is hot.....people it detects well....buyer beware you need the magnetic probe if you want 100% car detection....

> 3 dayThe receiver unit is nice. I got the one with relay contacts so I can interface it with HomeSeer. Dakota should seriously consider adding or replacing a few of the alert tunes with something more useful. The problem is with the PIR motion detector. It sees deer and people almost always but seeing a moving vehicle is a crap shoot at best. I relocated it twice with no improvement. Lots of false alarms. So many that I took it off the tree mount and brought it inside the house. It would detect me walking around and would also get into a state where it went off repeatedly every couple minutes. I adjusted sensitivity and filtering a few times with no improvement. I contacted Tech Support and they were helpful but did not solve the problem. So… I replaced the detector with a Dakota probe type detector that gets buried next to the driveway and it seems to be 100% reliable with no false alarms. I relocated the original PIR motion detector to the outside of the house where it now sees persons approaching the side door. It is reliable detecting people..

> 3 dayThe alarm came when promised. The only hard part was taking the back off of transmitter because the 4 screws required a #1 Phillip head screwdriver which was only one we didnt have. I did not change any settings inside ( filter, range or led light ). 9v battery which not included . I used the swivel mount on the out side of the house. For receiver the tune was very easy to set . There was about 8 or 10 tunes to pick from. Volume also has the off. Just keep hitting button. Alarm was catching large trucks or school buses so I adjust the position. Ill see how it does when snows or rain. I do have it protected under the roof overhang. Will update if theres a problem.

> 3 dayWell I love the unit and decided to add another receiver. All went well until one day before the return date and it went crazy. The siren tune sounds like a sick cricket and the other tunes start off then start chirping !

> 3 dayPretty challenging setup procedures for a person not used to working with small electronics. Four circuit board pin jumpers require setup. Easy to do if youre confident doing these sort of things.

Greater than one weekWe had used Mighty Mule in the past but as we get older, the tiny high pitched beep is too quiet on several driveway alarms, and the Mighty Mule we ordered this time was sent back for that reason and the malfunctioning radio portion. THIS brand has a nice louder alarm, with the ability to choose your song or tone pattern, which should be required of all alarms in this aging population around the world. Absolutely criminal to have smoke alarms or other critical alarms that cant be heard by tinnitus victims or our veterans or just aging ears! THIS brand also has a simple installation and was chosen due to advertised radio range to the receiver inside the house. Unfortunately, we started out at 600 from the house, in the country without a lot of radios around, and it reached the receiver maybe one out of four times. We moved it 200 closer and similar result. The sensor was working but not the radio link. Finally we installed around 250 from house with light tree cover around and it is working 95% of the time, it appears, but we dont have summer foliage on t he trees so it may require moving even closer, which defeats the goal of having an early alarm system for people driving in a long driveway. When high bandwidth wifi signals can traverse this same range with video, it is not asking too much for companies that realize they are installing along driveways that exceed 200 to provide better antennae or radio links ! You are not sending much data, so make it simple but strong ! Plenty of frequencies to choose from, and this receiver has no external antenna, which would help it for those who need the range advertised. There seems to be a real hole in the market at least on Amazon, for better range, more audible alarms in driveway alarms not susceptible to wildlife triggers and other false alarms. For now, this was the best we found and it would get 5 stars if the range were much better !

Greater than one weekSince I live in the country I dont have access to wifi, this motion detector works wirelessly and works like a charm. It detects every vehicle driving in or out of my long drive, so I always know when I have a visitor. It was very easy to install, plus there are several different tones to choose from for your alerts. Would purchase again in a heartbeat.
