> 3 dayOverall the product would be great if the alarm would stop going off every 10 seconds. I’ve had a Dakota alarm prior to this for over 16 years without a problem. Got in touch with customer service and the guy was acting like I was insulting him. Told me he was doing his job for 15 years and apparently he didn’t know what he was talking about sarcastically. Told him I set it up exactly like the last one and the way the directions said to. Still kept going off. Gave me a huge attitude so I got disgusted with him and sent it back. Overall Dakota is a great company and I may try a different unit.

> 3 dayWe purchased the Dakota Alert for security. We positioned it on our driveway just below our gate, mounting it on a permanent electrical housing box, about 3.5 feet off the ground. Every time a vehicle or a person passes, it should signal us in the house that someone is on our driveway, but the alarm triggers only 70% of the time. Disappointed.

> 3 dayInstalled this a couple of days ago, was waiting for Fedex to set it off and I wasnt disappointed. It triggered about 125 feet down my driveway and reacted as advertised. Max sensing range is around 100 feet but the sensor can transmit to the receiver up to 1/2 mile depending on terrain as it is line of sight. The outdoor setting seems to prevent spurious triggers due to weeds or branches blowing in the wind. It seems to only trigger if a large object breaks the invisible beam. There are enough different alarm settings and levels to satisfy anyone. The lights are unobtrusive and mild being a soft blue color. Install and set up was easy with easy to understand instructions. This system will run up to 16 alarm sensors and now that I know it works so well, Im buying three more. Good job Dakota Alert!!

> 3 dayI have been using Dakota Alert alarms for over 20 years. My original set was getting old so I decided to upgrade. This new Dakota alarm is very easy to install. I had to build bird houses for the old ones since they were kind of boxy looking. The new version you just attach a mounting plate with 4 screws (you really only need 2) and just slide the unit on the plate. Only issue I have is someone could just grab the unit easily. The receiver offers a choice of 12 different sounds and has visual flashing LEDs when activated. Easily expanded with additional transmitters. Programming for range, sensitivity and sounds was simple. You can also disable the red LED in the transmitter. A good proven product. Update: I would recommend using the medium range sensitivity. I initially set it to minimum (25 yards) and found it missed detection occasionally.

> 3 dayThis brand works great but this particular model doesn’t have a volume adjustment. I need it to be loud at night and normal Volume during the day.

> 3 dayI have had this driveway monitor for over 15 years and it NEVER FAILS to alert me for any person or car (or large animal, such as deer) entering my driveway. It is beyond valuable. I love it and everyone I know who comes to my home and experiences it asks about it and gets one of their own! I have had this same one all this time and also purchased another one for my mothers home and she also has had hers for a very long time. I replace the battery about once a year and it detects motion several times a day, as I have deliveries often and a lot of visitors. Best value, too! You wont be disappointed!
