> 3 dayI have been wearing Darn Tough socks for several years now. I wanted some socks to wear casually in tennis shoes so I purchased these. This pair is right in the middle of thin and thick as far as the material is concerned. I find that the thickness of these socks are about the same as your typical cotton crew socks. Just thick enough for comfort and a bit of warmth, but not quite thick enough for boots or extremely cold weather. I find that when I am wearing these down into the 40s Fahrenheit with tennis shoes my feet stay warm enough. Any colder and you are going to want a thicker sock. The fit of these is very good, I purchased the XL and my feet are size 12.5. I think that realistically the XL would fit a 12-14 shoe size comfortably. A size 12 may prefer the L over the XL if you want a tighter fit - I prefer mine to be a bit loose. Overall these have held up very well.

> 3 dayI wear Smartwool and Darn Tough socks. Both are comfortable, perform well, and are around the same price. The Darn Toughs are definitely much more durable. I have worn holes in Smartwool socks in less than a year, but not the Darn Toughs.

> 3 dayThey are tough, darn tough. Comfortable and they with liner socks, I didnt have any blister issues. Even with 2 weeks of day hiking switching between a couple pairs, just a bit of rinsing and air drying each night and they did not smell.
