    I was using this for a timed door and it just failed all of a sudden (most likely a bad motor) I bought a new one because of price and its working for now but if this has issues also, this review will stay and I will bring my business somewhere else.

    Used this actuator to control a pivot on a project. First, the actuator is extremely slow operating. Second, it snapped off the rear mounting ear (on the motor housing) on the first use. Its made from extremely cheap cast aluminum and the second it got tweaked, it snapped clean off. Not sure of the actual force limit of this item because the design failed before I could really test the force limits of the unit. Maybe I torqued the actuator across an axis I didnt think I was, but this shouldnt be a failure point given the rating of the actuator.

    I bought this rim to run a foot rest up and down ,For a home built wheelchair... The ram is still operating as it should but the head Has started to separate from The column So I guess time will tell, -Mike

INSTALLATION WARNING:

1.The load added onto the actuator must be less than or equal to the rated load of the actuator. 

2.Mount the actuator by securing the top and the bottom mounting holes to two fixed positions. The stroke length of the actuator and the limitations of the particular application will determine the location of the fixed mounting positions. 


IMPORTANT: 

1.Confirm that the two-way movement of an item is smooth and within the actuator"s stroke length after it has been installed. Additionally, confirm that no obstacles exist along the travel path of the actuator. 

2.Secure the item"s top and bottom mounting holes onto the two mounting fixtures using 5/16"" diameter bolts. 

3.Connect the red wire to the positive post and the black wire to the DC power supply"s negative post.

4.The operation of the item should be tested manually after the installation is completed.
