> 3 dayI actually bought this because my puppy had figured out how to open our doors. This was perfect for keeping him out of the pantry but also easy for my kid to use.

> 3 dayIve had these for about 10 months. Up until today I loved them. Theyve been sturdy and kept my toddler from getting in rooms he shouldnt. I only keep the bottom lock engaged as my toddler hasnt been able to open the lever handle upwards. Well today I accidently engaged both sides and locked myself in the nursery...luckily my son was in the room with me. I put him in his crib for bed and when I went to leave noticed I couldnt get out. I had to jump out the window and come back in through my front door. I was really hoping the plastic was as cheap as others said so I could just break it and get out but after a few fairly rough attempts at opening the door I had to resort to the window. Now imagine that happening with your toddler outside the room or in say a bathroom with no windows...

> 3 dayOur dog had figured out how to open our levered doors. We havent had any issues since we installed this. Its easy to install and use. Our only issue was that we tried to take it off (as instructed) to put on the other side of the door, but we werent able to get it off easily.

Greater than one weekI bought this product to keep my cat out of my bedroom when Im not home. Smart little creature had figured out how to open my door. NOW, with this childproof lever, I have no worries that she can bust in. Its easy to use and easy to install I highly recommend

> 3 dayMy father’s dementia causes him to want to wander around. Once he made it out of the back door at sunset while everyone was sleeping. It was truly terrifying. This product is the best money I’ve spent all year because it keeps my father safe and is such a relief for the family. And we have a alarm system on the house but it didn’t stop him from trying to go out the door. If you are caring for someone with dementia this is truly a must have.

> 3 dayOverall, Id recommend these to anyone with an escape artist toddler like mine. They make it so that he cant escape but everyone else can still go in and out, which is important because theres 7 people in my house. It did break after about 5-6 months of constant use (on the front door). And it wasnt the toddler that broke it, but my dad. You can also just put out the bottom prong and lift up to open the door, which is really helpful if you dont want to lock everyone out of the house. That is, at least, unless youre toddler figures it out. Weve been careful to not let him see how we open it. :P I would buy it again if I didnt need it immediately (hes already escaped several times this week, cant wait any longer, so Ill have to buy in town). Its also worth mentioning that it was relatively difficult to remove. I had to pry it off with a knife, and then it took me 10 minutes to scrape off all the residue...

> 3 dayThese work ok. My door panels are I guess youd say concave close to door handle. I make them work but can only work if I lift handle up instead of down. It gets the job done for now until my 21 month old grandson figures it out!

> 3 dayIt’s not every time but when he tries hard enough he can put enough pressure on the the bottom half of the lock and push it to open. My kids rough in general so maybe that’s it so you might not have the same problem.

> 3 dayI was looking at so many alternative style locking mechanisms to keep our two year old safe. We have a pond and beach maybe 30 yards from the house. All she has to do if flip the deadbolt and turn the flip handle and she’s out the door. Too many times has she escaped from the house and would make it to the beach by the time we were exiting the door after her. I ordered this lock after a friend sent me the link, showing me how effective it was- along with the cheaper price. We had to shave down one of the sides to accommodate proper space for the metal on the door, but so far, it works amazingly! The bottom and top lever both move, depending on which way your handle flips. After flipping your door handle up or down, you simply move the lever back to the original position, making it impossible to move the door handle down or up. Thank you for the added security that we needed! No more escapes have been made and we can rest easy that our toddler isn’t on the beach or wading in the water.
