I love the concept: much less plastic waste, smaller package, refillable. But Ive gone thru about 5 of the refills now and they all break off. The last one I used I was very, very careful to gently apply and it still breaks off. So frustrating bc I love the idea of it so much. But it breaks off at the slightest pressure and then its a huge pain to apply and your hands get deodorant all over them so really youre making more waste than if you just bought the normal package and didnt have to replace a not fully used one prematurely. They need to come up with some kind of twist up design or something. Will not buy again.

The product fell apart before I could get any use out of it. Total waste of money.

Bad design. Deodorant part breaks off easily and then it’s useless. Wanted to save on plastic, but it’s not usable.

Very disappointed. Love the smell and case but the deodorant breaks off. Very frustrating. This both refills broke and I had to hold it together with my hands and got all slimy.

Broke within the first week. So much for saving the environment, if you have to buy twice the amount of these sticks to deal with breakage, not really getting saving much. Won’t be buying again

Scent is great, idea is great, execution not so much. After one use the deodorant broke off the holder, completely unusable.

Love the idea. The deodorant stick in my starter pack worked fine, but I bought this refill and the deodorant stick broke right off on the second use. This seems to be an issue with most reviewers here. Wish I could return it.

I love the idea: just refill the product that you need instead of purchasing more plastic to encase said product. However, there are problems that Im hoping will be solved in future versions. I have now been using this system for about a year and went through 2 deodorant pods (just inserted my last refill.) Its clunky to use at first because there is no push-up dial and all of the deodorant is exposed. There is also less to hold onto, so you need to change your typical deodorant grip. All of that is an acceptable sacrifice to save on plastic waste. HOWEVER, I dont know how much waste is actually being saved. Refills come encased in a plastic shell, which is then put into a cardboard box with cut-outs for each of the 2 refills. This is stupid. There is no reason for it. If they wrapped the refills in wax paper or something similar, they would have the same protection from damage that could occur in transit. Nothing is going to touch those refills inside of the current, hard-core, cardboard box. You tried, Dove, but it makes those of us who are trying to be environmentally conscious look like idiots when we buy something like this.

I absolutely love this deodorant but have a feeling dove won’t sell it for long due to bad reviews. I hope they do make an alternative refillable, if they do. The scents are great. As you can see I’ve used it quite a bit. It has a few marks from tumbling around in a bag, and the top has never come off. I put the other dove aluminum free next to it, just to compare dove products. The other does not work well or last all day. Yes, the price can get steep, so glad I could get a deal.
