Love this product. The idea of a refillable deodorant. Maybe it was what my package endured via transit but it broke clean off the applicator on the first use. So I have been applying my deodorant by hand; holding this lump and rubbing it around my pits. Haha. Out of spite for paying money for it. I won’t toss it. I’ll just awko-taco it and man handle my lump of dove.

I started with Doves refillable green tea scent and made it all the way through without a stick break. When it came time to refill, I wanted to try the coconut scent. The scent is indeed lovely, but both of my refill sticks broke within days of refill, meaning I have to apply my deodorant by hand if I want to use it. I love the sustainability aspect, but I just cant justify the money if they break immediately. Im going to try the green tea scent again in case that formula is more sturdy.

The deodorant goes on smoothly, I decided to just try it without the extra base and it works! Im trying to cut down on plastic and deodorant but wanted something that actually works and is a good price. This seems to meet all my needs! Hope they keep making it!

I have used these happily in the past with no issues. I like the looks, compact form and reduction in plastic. But these refills failed in the first several uses, with the deodorant bar breaking from its mount. I would have shrugged it off if it had been just one, but both refills in the two-pack broke, suggesting to me that there is a basic problem or a defective manufacturing run.

Ive tried 5 of these little refills, and 4 of them have snapped off the dispenser when I apply it, even though I apply gently and show it time to melt slightly on my skin. I would not recommend.

An Aluminum free smell that doesn’t smell!!

The product it self seemed sooo cool to me ! But seriously it doesn’t work makes me smell terrible by mid day I smell like b.o so disappointed

I bought this refillable product to help our planet - unfortunately after 4 different of these refills breaking off, rendering the product useless I sadly decided to go back to regular deodorants.

Gotta be honest, reading some of these reviews, Im curious how people apply their deodorant now. Like how hard are you smashing it into your armpits? You dont need a lot of (if any) pressure. Youre not cleaning your armpits. Simply adding a thin layer of deodorant. Just nice, light, even swipes are all thats required. Ive been using this product for a little over a month and I love it! Admittedly, it was weird at first to see the whole stick out there instead of just a small bit like traditional sticks but it was an easy enough learning curve to deal with initially. The case did fine on my road trip and never once popped open or broke. As for dealing with smell, this is aluminum free deodorant and if you dont know what that means, maybe you should look for a different product. Aluminum was added historically as an antiperspirant. Meaning that it stopped your body from sweating. No sweat = no smell. Antiperspirant paired with a deodorant simply means that in the event that you do sweat, the deodorant will help minimize the smell. But science is learning that aluminum can be very bad for the body so I love alternatives like this here. Taking out the aluminum, which they did with this product, means that youre going to sweat. Youre going to have to reapply at some point during the day if you do extreme physical activity or are in a hot environment all day. The deodorant helps regulate the smell for normal activity. I work at a library. Im constantly on the move; checking in and shelving books, pushing carts, stretching and squating and everything else. Applying in the morning gets me through all that just fine. No odor unless I bury my nose in my pit, which Im not about to do (and no one else should either, its weird!). Of course, if I take my bike out or do a hike with my dogs, Im obviously going to reapply when I freshen up afterwards. In my opinion, a lot of the lower reviews are probably because people dont know what they want in a bar - Deodorant, Antiperspirant, or both. They also might not be aware that it could be their own bodys chemistry. Not every formula will work with every body and we shouldnt expect it to do that. BUT! If youre looking to cut plastic usage, are aware of the differences in 0% aluminum deodorants versus traditional ones, and have tried these scent formulas before with success... Then Id suggest giving this a go.

This is a great way to reduce the use of plastic.
