> 3 dayHas issues working with MS Word. I want to be able to dictate into word and not its proprietary dragon pad. I worked with help desk for over an hour and still no luck. you would think this would work without a hiccup as word is a popular word processing package. Doesnt work well with MS Word 2010 (so far). I have found it to work seemless with MS Excel, note pad and Xactimate (custom program for estimating)

> 3 dayI have enjoyed Dragon a great deal. It has fantastic voice recognition and is generally easy to use. I would only suggest Dragon make getting answers to questions easier. I am still trying to figure out negotiating the body of, for instance, E-mails. I think the instructions should lend themselves more to the Computer Dummy. Other than that I find the product excellent for dictation, etc. Yes I would recommend it to others.

> 3 dayWorks fantastic. Would highly suggest going thru the tutorials to make it most user friendly. 1 star less than 5 because i had a problem registering it and had to be on a call with tech support for a while. Took a bit but they were able to get it fixed

> 3 dayUpgrading my review to three stars. I had to uninstall then reinstall the program. Now it seems to work. It is a bit slow on my OS (vista 64-bit with 1.8 GHz). Maybe it is better on a different OS with a faster processor? Accuracy out of the box seems pretty good, but I havent used it that much yet.

Greater than one weekI was very excited to get this, because all I do is type all day long, and I am not the best typist. So, my hope was that this software would assist me with that, and what I found was that it had more major errors than my own typing. I tried two different headset microphones with similar results. Part of the issue was that I write in a certain specific vernacular, and the software was a struggle around some of the words. On the other hand, if I were handicapped in any way that made typing difficult, I would think this software would be a dream come true. It has its merits!

> 3 dayTheir policy about online help is brutal, and Im having terrible problems. Beware the dictation box which, in my case, means I cant write within the book Im writing, but have to write things in the dictation box then transfer them into the book. Its an absolute nightmare for editing, my #1 need. It is also currently randomly capitalizing words, and typing out commands instead of obeying them. I would have to pay $10 or $20 to get help, b/c its 3 days past the 90 days. I have looked everywhere on how to kill the dictation box but I it wont work. Also, Nuance person in the Philippines was very impatient with me, expecting me to know all sorts of commands when it was brand new to me. I know there are no alternatives on the market, but be prepared to be extraordinarily frustrated. I had to give up using it for this review, and type in pain instead, because of those frustrations. It says, Please say that again, endlessly, even though I bought a USB port to plug it in. Good luck!

> 3 dayNothing like the advertisement claimed. Very difficult to use. couldnt get past the beginning set up. It did not recognize anything I said no matter how I did as instructed. I have had professional movie speaking parts, speak two languages with perfect accent, am gifted as a mimic. And I still could not get it to type anything as I read it. Tried to return it as dissatisfied with performance and it was returned as being opened. No s***! it is useless and a waste of money. Maybe in a few years after enough people throw their hard earned money at this s*** program it may become something. My experience was very bad!

> 3 dayInstalled Dragon after using it several year ago. I never really got the hang of version 10, but took the time to learn this version and it seems to be a little easier. I do a lot of writing for my business, and this program makes long documents go smoother, at least to get the ideas on the page. I have not yet mastered it and find myself making the final edits by hand, but its a great program. NOTE - this version will NOT WORK with Medical Records; there is a special Dragon for medical records.

Greater than one weekI am sure that people who receive emails would like to reply but dont want to take time to type it out so we let it fall into email garbage. Then again, you would like to just compose a letter to a friend or a complaint regarding a product but just dont want to take the time to type it out. I fell into these two categories even though Im a fast typist. A little over 15 years ago I purchased a word recognition software and found it to be useless as I spent more time going back and correcting errors. A majority of the time manufactures will spot their weaknesses and work to improve their product. I am super pleased in the improvement that Dragon has made in the word recognition field. It is not 100% perfect but darn close. The biggest factor in dictating is pronunciation and not slurring your words but then again it is proper to speak good English. I really like this product and I have no regrets in purchasing it. It is definitely a timesaver for me as I handle a fair amount of correspondence each week.

> 3 dayI chose this item cause I HATE to type and thought this would be perfect in helping me get caught up with my work at the office. However I spent more time fixing the mistakes and getting frustrated when Dragon couldnt understand what I was saying that it now sits in its original box on a shelf. It sounded awesome and I bragged to everyone about ordering it. Now everyone is asking about Dragon and laughing when I say, if I took the time to learn it maybe it would be good but I dont have the time that is needed. Oh and I did not get it at the great sale prices it is currently selling for ....so yes I got duped hopefully by reading this you wont. Like I said if you have time to learn all its tricks Im sure it would be awesome but when one see online there are actual training classes for the software I should have known.....and I work in IT.
