First order had only two of the three taps, no bottoming tap. The replacement had only one tap. Ni shrink wrap or other packaging other than the plastic box for either set. So, the replacement is also going back. Dont waste your time ordering this.

Had no problem tapping a through hole in stainless steel. Use lots of oil (even cooking oil is OK).

Apparently there QC is not very astute. The tap packaging was labeled as 1/2-20, however the actual taps in the package. Well they were 1/2-13. Verify the actual item matches the package label, that is the lesson to learn from this.

The taps look OK. I have not yet used them. However, a set of 3 was advertised and I only got 2 in the package. It was not worth the effort to try to return them, but I feel cheated.

Im a machinist by trade. I cant say how they would hold up in a commercial setting but in my home shop environment they worked very well.

This three tap set could be very useful however the set was supposed to include a taper, plug, and bottoming tap. The set I received included two taper and one plug tap. No bottoming tap was included.

Drill America DWT Series High Speed Steel hand taps are the most versatile taps for hand use, or for tapping under power. Hand taps are popular for use in general machine tapping or CNC tapping. For re-threading and making new threads. High Speed Steel Hand Taps come in three styles: Taper Style: Starts the thread square with the workpiece. Plug Style: Generally used in thru holes. Bottom Style: Generate the thread to the bottom of the hole. A tap set contains 1 taper, 1 plug and 1 bottoming tap.
