Greater than one weekI had purchased these taps to clean out Frame Rail Weld Nuts in a 16 year old car. A lot of rust and road grime. The purpose was the installation of a new trailer hitch. When they first arrived I was impressed with the nice divided case that they came in. Very convenient especially considering the low cost of the set. That is where the good for this project ends. The first two snapped within minutes of use in the first nut. This was very surprising as I was using a T-Handle Tap Wrench and you cant get much torque with one. Im guessing these either had a bad temper or were from a bad batch of steel because the third lasted for the rest of the project (6 additional Weld Nuts). Next time Ill spend the extra money and get something a little higher quality.

> 3 dayI bought the set to chase some threads and finish threads in a blind hole. They worked great and cut new threads easily. I only used the taps for one hole, but they are still sharp and show no signs of damage.

> 3 dayThere 1/4 20 but there a cheap tap so be carful not to make a bad job even worse with them.

> 3 dayI needed a reverse tap to adapt a weed cutter to work with fixed blade modification that replaces the string assembly. The kit used a 3/8 reverse bolt to attached the blades. Once I received the tap, I was able to cut threads required by the bolt. Worked out well. Have used the weed cutter several times and the bolt has not come loose.

09-06-2025I needed a tap that would thread deeper than the shank. The ones in the illustration would do that. The 1/4-20 taps that were delivered will not. That said, these taps are nicely made and should work well for a lot of applications.

> 3 dayThese taps were much easier to use than I had expected, not having tapped anything before. Although its not likely Ill use them often, if ever again, Im completely satisfied.

> 3 dayI have bought products from this company before and have been satisfied with their products. With this product the diameter of the shanks was pictured as the minor thread diameter. The set arrived and the diameter of the shanks was the major diameter of the threads. This means that you cannot tap a deeper hole than the cutting length of the tap. This was contrary to Top Dogs question that was answered in 2020: Q: are the 1/4-20 taps like the web page picture, or like the customeer picture. In other words is the shank smaller than the minor diameter? A: As pictured By Top dog on December 7, 2020

> 3 dayHad no problem tapping a through hole in stainless steel. Use lots of oil (even cooking oil is OK).
