Drill America 3/8-16 UNC High Speed Steel Tap Set

Used for manual thread cleaning. working well even w/o lubricant

I ordered a set of three and just got two. Thats unacceptable

havent used them much but they work as expected and have not broken yet.

I used this set to tap threads into a 1 deep hole that bottomed out in a piece of stainless steel. Used all three taps starting with the taper and ending with the bottom tap. All three cut through the hard stainless steel with relative ease and achieved smooth threads all the way to the very end of the hole. So far have done just the one hole and taps look pristine and ready for more. The plastic case they come in is also handy for storage.

This is not a set. It is only one item. Pictures are very misleading.

The taps look OK. I have not yet used them. However, a set of 3 was advertised and I only got 2 in the package. It was not worth the effort to try to return them, but I feel cheated.

I am frustrated at the photo not accurately representing the product. The product photo shows the threads wider than the body so you can tap both sides of a tube with a single tap. What was delivered did not look like the photo. I wouldn’t have ordered them.

I was able to tap into a harden shaft with this. Did it very slowly and a lot of cutting fluid.

The tap set (I ordered #8-32 3-piece set) arrived promptly. It was nicely packaged and appeared to be of good quality. The cutting surfaces were sharp, and the taps nicely finished. I used them to tap several blind holes in brass, and they worked just fine. Other reviewers have complained that they are flimsy and not durable, but I certainly didnt observe that. They seem just like any other tap I have used in the past. Id definitely recommend them.
