Greater than one weekI decided to upgrade my Dyson V11 for this one, and Im a bit dissapointed about the battery and filter for this new dyson. I get a filter cleaning message so often even with so little of use. I clean it and leave it for a day, and same story again after a short use. Suction power is amazing and that’s the only good thing I could say about it.

Greater than one weekThis is my third Dyson. I first bought one for my retail store, a V8. Then I bought a V8 animal for home. We had the extended warranty and had to replace the V8, so about 2 years in we got a brand new V10 vacuum. That was a great upgrade back then but unfortunately the battery still died on that one before the new extended warranty went out, so they gave me a gift card for that one. I think my staff just didnt know how to use a Dyson. In the meantime I had mastered using our V8 animal but the battery life was just not enough for our house. Then we moved to a bigger house and I insisted we had to get a new Dyson. So our V8 animal has retired to a small office space that we keep in our other store. It is great for small jobs but only lasts about 20 minutes. I ended up doing a bunch of research on Dysons and picked the new v15 with extra attachments. I also purchased the aftermarket hose. I am so happy with my purchase that I cant shut up about my vacuum. Im sure people think Im crazy but I have already picked up over 5 million particles, including vacuuming out the keyboards of the computers, and repeatedly vacuuming the same carpet until the dust count goes down dramatically. You would not believe the fine microscopic particles that this thing picks up. It is ridiculously powerful and lasts so long that I can vacuum the new house and go back to any areas that I want to pay extra attention to until the battery dies. I have even taken this vacuum back to the store that used to have one and vacuumed after a traditional vacuum and the difference is night and day. The carpet looks almost brand new rather than the gray dingy that the traditional vacuum leaves it looking like. I am now going to have to find a solution for that store because I cant part with my v15 and it is kind of pricey for staff to use. But I am so happy with it. The only drawback I see for this model is it is a little tricky emptying the container. On my V8 animal when you released the container it dumped out the compartment, and I could open and close it a couple times to get it to fully empty any long hairs and stuff. This one you do have to use your fingers sometimes to get the stuff out. I also noticed the edge suction on the floor attachment is not quite as good as my V8 animal, but it still gets the job done it just might take a couple passes sometimes to get anything close to the baseboards. Im still really happy with it, definitely five stars for me. I should have been taking pictures of the crud Ive been vacuuming, Ill try to add some. My cleaning days are definitely not over with this beast on the job.

Greater than one weekIt is awesome on tile and hardwood floors. I have area rugs and it is horrible. The rugs are pretty flat so there shouldn’t be an issue but clearly there is. If you use too much suction then it’s too hard to push. If you don’t use enough suction then there’s still crap in the carpet. I’m only keeping it because I have more tile floors than carpet. So it’s super easy to clean the floor. I use my shark vacuum on the area rugs.

> 3 dayI Love the power this has along with all the different attachments. Only downside is you have to hold on trigger the whole time while vacuuming. I wish it locked in place. Dyson needs to change that.

> 3 dayI cant understand positive reviews for such an expensive vacuum that falls so short. 2800 square foot house, maybe 65-70% carpeting and various throw rugs. This vacuum cant get the job done on one battery. So, I have to wait hours for the battery to recharge. To be fair, it has an Eco setting that might allow me to do the whole house. I never tried it because the suction on Eco is terrible!!! Might as well use a tiny dustbuster. If I am paying $700, I am paying that for the power to get ground in dirt and dust up on the first or second pass. If I wanted bare minimum suction, there are plenty of handheld vacuums available for $100 that offer that. Unless your house is 100% wood and/or tile floors, the Eco setting is useless. On top of the one battery issue, this thing is heavy and uncomfortable. The trigger has to be held down constantly and this weighs considerably more than my old Dyson handheld. When using its top setting, no question this model gets up the dirt. Its very effective. But, its only able to do a room or two with carpet and then the loooong recharge has to begin again. For this kind of money, I need a vacuum that can get the job done. Other Dyson handhelds had two batteries in the past, so its not like Dyson is not aware of the difference that having two batteries can make. I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere or buy an older Dyson that comes with two batteries. Buying an additional battery to make this model genuinely useful will up the price to around $900-$950 and its simply not worth it. Really disappointed in this model. Its going back for a refund.
