I too read all the negative reviews on this product but decided to go ahead with trying it anyway. I have the home edition of Windows XP and it works just fine on mine. I dont use the photosuite or dvd builder, I only needed a burner and something to make my own music discs. I had versions 4 and 5 before and I figured this one could not be as bad as was written. But thats just my experience, Im sure the other people had the problems they say. Its up to each person to decide I guess.

I have used about all versions of Roxio CD-Maker even buggy Verson 5. The new drag and drop icon works great. I have tried other cd-creator software, but none as work as easy or quick as Roxie. Install was breeze. I notice if I use no-name CD-R my system will hangup with any errors. I would said it is good buy.

. I am a security tech that uses various software application during my daily work, that requires backups and storage for safekeeping. I have never seen a software package that requires such a short learning curve to operate ! It litterally took me 3 minutes to install it and another few minutes to start using the CD burning and the video editing features. The graphic interface is intuitive, and the ease of use makes it the BEST EVER ! One of my coleagues in the engineering dept. was a long time Nero user. As of last week he converted to Roxios easy CD creator, wondering what took him so long to wake up and smell the coffee... Thank you Roxio for this wonderful application that will make my life so much easier ! Keep up the good job ! HK

I purchased the Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 Platinum Edition in November 2004, after Microsofts SP2 for Windows XP made my Basic 5 version unusable. Ive been exchanging emails with Roxio Technical Support ever since. I can burn a data CD only to a CDR (for some reason ECDC 6 does not recognize my CDRWs). I cannot copy a CD using the Disc Copier function. For some reason the ECDC 6 recognizes my burner only through the Creator Classic function. What is wrong with companies these days? They grab the money and run. Never mind whether the customer gets the functionality they are paying for. Ill be looking into Nero or Sonic, which Ive heard positive comments from live users. Amazon.com, on the other hand, is one customer-oriented company!

I installed the product and it promptly screw up my entire system. It deleted files and made others unreadable. The product comes with a 390 page instrtuction book and if, by chance, you have a question not covered in the manual it will cost you $35.00 to ask that question, IF you can get a response. You CAN NOT get On Line Support of any sort. An attempt to sign into their site is greeted with a statement saying they have no record of your E-Mail address and cannot respond. Yet they keep sending promotional material to the same E-Mail address they have no record of. Save yourself Time, Money and A LOT of Problems - Dont buy this product!!!!!!

I havent used the program too much yet, but the one dvd backup I did make worked fine. My major qualm with the program is that upon installation, it seems to have partitioned my hard drive without asking me and for no apparent reason. I now have a FAT partitioned f: drive containing some system files. I could tell the installation had problems from the start because it kept flashing the same message and rebooting my computer several times. I have a 7 month old Dell machine running Windows XP.

I purchased Roxio 6 platinum edition about 1 year ago and it worked fine (well at least initially). But for the last 2-3 months I started having problem with my CD-RW/DVD-RW burner(This drive came installed on my Dell computer when I purchased it 14 months ago along with Roxio basic edition 5). Once a CD-R/RW is inserted into the drive Roxio 6 alerts you that this disc in not prepared and formatted, so you can not use it.Therefore you have to format it using the Format Disc option, a process wich takes 25-45 minutes. Only thenafter is the disc ready to use (i.e. saving files on it) just as a floppy disc(i.e. you cane erase a single or multiple file(s) witout the need to erase the whole disc completely). As I mentioned all the features(e.g saving ,CD burning, music or data disc creating ,label creating ...etc)supported by roxio platinum 6 worked fine for the first several months. (note:I have not used it with DVD discs). Then the problems started. 1.Blank new CDs can not be formated any more. That means that the blank CDs can not be used for saving and burning since they require preparation and formatting. So my CD/DVD burner now is turned into a CD/DVD Rom drive. 2.The CD-RW disc that I successfully formated with the same software can now no more be used as formmated CD-RW (i.e a single file can not be removed unless the entire disc is erased) 3.The shortcut icon on the desktop sometimes does not respond to the mouse click as it used to several months ago. So I have to reboot my PC. 4.When I try to use other CD-R/RW which, on which I saved files using my old sony PC, Roxio patinum 6 recognized the disc and opened the files. BUT I could not save(add) new files because I got the message the disc is not formated. Formating it will erase all of the previously saved data in addition it ,formating, won`t be successfull. That what happened to me when I lost important data saved on disc but the disc itself could not be formated. Those problems left me with crappy software and CD/DVD burner. I used several CD brand Memorex,Sony, Staples,ofiice-depot but all ended with the same annoying and disappointing results. If you are willing to take a riks buy it. It might keep working fine with your PC and CD or CD/DVD burner for more than the initial few months Thanks

I bought this against the advice of several reviews on this site. It will make a nice looking DVD but it is very limited in my opinion. 1) Wont allow you to combine video clips 2) Wont allow you to rename the video clips that you capture. You can only do that in windows explorer. 3) Any audio that you attach is limited to just a few seconds 4) If you need any help with anything other than installation problems, you have to pay for it from day one. 5)When you edit a clip, you cant keep what you cut out, it automatically discards it. Its OK, but not worth the $ I paid for it. I am going to find a real DVD capture and edit program and get rid of this.

I had EasyCD Cremator basic that came with a Micro-Advantage DVD Burner. I was unable to burn anything, as with a previous review the drive would alternate between recognizing the media and not, saying it was unreadable to being able to record once and then having it not be readable/writable. I made a total of 7 coasters (dvd recordables) and several Cd-rs. It would occasionaly work with my previoulsy installed CD burner. Anyway I took the drive back thinking it was bad. I bought a new Pioneer drive, same problem. I uninstalled the Cremator installed Nero 6 Ultra, everything works perfectly, both burners in my system. Dont the hardware manufacurers test their drives with the software before packaging it. EasyCD Cremator is totaly useless and is not even worth getting it for free when you buy a burner. Do yourself a favor, dont bother installing it, throw it away and get Nero or one of the Freeware/Shareware burning software (see DVDRHELP.COM). Oh, the drag to disk worked occasionally with the CD burner. I guess that is worth about 1 star.

The product was good but it is very slow or sluggish to load. Also, the process times need to be faster.
