    Greater than one week

I love these coolers, love the trays you can add its my construction purse. Other then the insulation seems to be getting lower quality, I still love these coolers.

Nice box seals well with nice latches held a 24pack of beercans a 20oz of dr pepper an about 3/4 of a bag of ice without the little tray in it, rode on the back of my 4wheeler for about 7 hours in an out of it constantly finshed the ride an the wheeler sat in the bed of my truck with this ice chest still on it all day about 12 hours or so when i checked it all the ice was gone but the water an the last 2 beers where still ice cold not bad for only 3/4 of a bad of ice Update Box holds up well to being thrown off the 4 wheeler, latches are very nice to have, still seals well after plently of use but the box is only good for a day ride do not count on ice lasting more then a day, it is a nice box but over priced if i did it again id of went ahead an got one of the 120 dollar ritc coolers or similar

Use it daily as my work lunch box, I drive a company truck regular cab usually put the bucket in the bed and have not gotten any water from rain/snow. Like the shoulder strap for long walks a various job sites

This cooler doubles as a dry box so keep that in mind. If you’re wanting to maximize insulation and ice longevity this may not be you best choice. I did a test with a similar sized Igloo brand (16qt) with this Engel (19qt). The Igloo is about half the cost. The Igloo has thicker sides and this a bit more insulation. In three different test using frozen water bottles of the same capacity, the bottles in the Engel fully thawed before the bottles in the Igloo. Same environment and temperatures with coolers side by side. It wasn’t dramatic, just the bottles in the Igloo had some ice left 1-3 hours after the bottles in the Engel were fully thawed. That was a little disappointing. Having said that, the frozen bottles in both lasted almost 36 hours and I expect the cooler filled with ice would hold longer than a couple loose frozen bottles with all the space around them. I’m going to keep the cooler because it is well made and I can use it for a dry box. I bought it for day trips in my small boat so it will work well for that. Would also be great for day trips to the beach, overnight trips, picnics etc when you don’t want to lug a large heavy cooler. But if that’s all you need and if you just want a cooler, save some money and get a much cheaper Igloo 16qt. as you gain nothing and lose something buying the Engel including twice the cost. I gave four stars for well built.

The quality of the actual cooler is ok but the plastic is a lil on the cheap side. Omg the strap is super thin and cheap ! Its very uncomfortable to carry on shoulder, the strap kinda look like the straps that you use to adjust on a kids school back pack! The handle on is cheap to . This isnt the worst or the best… butttttt…. The price is to darn high for this cooler.

I purchased 2 of these to give to apprentices. Love these boxes and would absolutely buy another if I could figure out how to wear out the one Ive been using 6-7 days a week on construction sites all over the country. Plenty of storage and keeps you food hot or cold. Im 61 240#s and have no problem sitting on this box to eat. Engel coolers are quality and I expect them to last quite a while. I just wish they made more of them in the USA. Side note, do yourself a favor and buy an extra storage tray, I use one for utensils and condiments and the other as a basic junk drawer at work, keys, wallet, phone, pens note pads and all that...

EVERYDAY AFFAIR- That Box was by my side every day I left the house for work for the past 3 years. The foam seal for the Lid is still water and Air tight 100% . Never used it as a seat it a step-stool . Cracks formed around the handle on the Lid after year 2 . Last week while walking across a busy intersection in LA the plastic clip/length adjuster broke and the Box took a Hard Tumble. If I get 3 years out of my new green one I will give another positive review. Thank You Engel for not being a YETI
