> 3 dayThis cooler doubles as a dry box so keep that in mind. If you’re wanting to maximize insulation and ice longevity this may not be you best choice. I did a test with a similar sized Igloo brand (16qt) with this Engel (19qt). The Igloo is about half the cost. The Igloo has thicker sides and this a bit more insulation. In three different test using frozen water bottles of the same capacity, the bottles in the Engel fully thawed before the bottles in the Igloo. Same environment and temperatures with coolers side by side. It wasn’t dramatic, just the bottles in the Igloo had some ice left 1-3 hours after the bottles in the Engel were fully thawed. That was a little disappointing. Having said that, the frozen bottles in both lasted almost 36 hours and I expect the cooler filled with ice would hold longer than a couple loose frozen bottles with all the space around them. I’m going to keep the cooler because it is well made and I can use it for a dry box. I bought it for day trips in my small boat so it will work well for that. Would also be great for day trips to the beach, overnight trips, picnics etc when you don’t want to lug a large heavy cooler. But if that’s all you need and if you just want a cooler, save some money and get a much cheaper Igloo 16qt. as you gain nothing and lose something buying the Engel including twice the cost. I gave four stars for well built.

> 3 dayHusband uses for work as he goes thru alot of water a day ( 8 bottles) since he works outside and needs to keep dehydrated. Plus he brings his lunch and snacks. This holds it all and keeps everything cold all day, in 100 degree heat!!

> 3 dayUse it as my lunchbox for work. Nice and sturdy and the tray is great for little stuff. Cant speak on it as a cooler as I havent had it long enough to use in warm weather. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

> 3 dayIf you just plan to use this on a day trip, or will have access to someplace you can buy ice regularly while out this is great. It just doesnt hold ice for that long. After about 24 hours outside 3/4 of the ice was melted. Was hoping it would be better than that.

> 3 dayAll the guys as work (construction) have these so I figured it had to be good. The box is big enough to fit a 12hr shift worth of food, but lite enough to carry the 1/4 mile walk from the parking lot to the site. I’ve only been using it for about a month but so far it seems well worth the price.

> 3 dayIf you compare this to any Yeti product then you are comparing two different class products. This Engel Cooler Dry box 19qt compared to a Yeti Roadie 19qt quite frankly is no comparison. ($60 vs $249) I own them both for comparison. 1st The Engels outside size it much smaller than a Yeti. Obviously this means less foam insulation. This is where it wins in certain situations. I use it for day trips, and road trips that I dont have the need for cold food or drinks past the 2 day mark. I also was concerned about the hinges like others on this cooler but it has performed great for me so far. I can see how it would be great as a lunch box as some other users claim. It does what is built to do. Keeps food cold, or keep your dry goods dry. 2nd This cooler is much lighter than a Yeti once again because it is not built to the same standard. I do use mine as a seat from time to time and have not had any issues @200 lbs. I have used this cooler on my boat and it performed great. I would suggest the Ice packs, or frozen waters to keep your items chilled because it is only 19 quarts. I actually bought this product because I thought it might have been the deal of the century Yeti like knock off. It is not a Yeti but I was not disappointed for the $60.00 price point. It is great little cooler for the money, it is just not a Yeti. Compare it more to a similarly priced product and you will find it is a gem. Engel does make coolers that are comparable to the Yeti in the Deep Blue series. This is where my initial confusion started because my research didnt spell out the differences in the cooler series. You would think I should have known the difference up front spending 1/4 of the money. My confusion yielded me a little useful cooler that I use quite often. It is a quality product that I can see lasting for years to come. Please compare the deep blue series Engel to the Yeti if you want a true comparison. It should be no surprise that the prices match as well as the coolers capabilities. This is a $60 cooler/dry box as it states.

> 3 dayThis has got to be the best lunch box I have ever purchased. it fits the large Gatorade (4) few snacks and lunch plus has a tray for other things like spoons, knives, phone charges, pocket knife, keys, wallet... the strap aint really worth a two-cent f#$^ from a midget, but it does work, just a little short. Im a traveling mechanic and this box has made my life on the road much easier.
