> 3 dayThis is the clamp-on light you bought in the past minus the glow paint inside - made well the base is ceramic as they all were years ago the power cord has a switch - the clamp seems sturdy but will not tolerate huge heavy lights w/o flopping this was designed to point down as a critter heater after all Will take a 100W bulb w/o melting - overall for the price you cant go wrong - would recommend..

03-06-2025Ive had this for 2 years now and honestly the glow should not be its selling point. Even brand new it only lasted 20 minutes. Now 2 years later the glow is hardly noticeable in a dark room and lasts barely 5 minutes. What I DO like about this dome fixture is the 10 inch base and the high build quality. This is the only dome fixture to survive 3 moves in the last 2 years and 14 hour day cycles. Its been bumped, dropped, stuffed in boxes, and it still works. My other reptiles have the smaller 8.5 inch deep domes and theyve destroyed bulb after bulb because the dome is too deep with too few air vents that the bulb overheats and shuts itself off. Never had that problem with this dome. Ill be replacing all my fixtures with this. Trust me, its worth the price.
