It is important to know just what number your furnace requires. Your HVAC person should be your guide. I found out by advice from my furnace expert my choice was too highly rated for my furnace so it was a step back to a 1900 number filter.

These are expensive but I love them because they capture a lot of particles at a performance rating of MPR 1900. It also prevents all the dust and microscopic particles from going into my furnace area. Prior to purchasing these, I use to purchase very cheap filters and it was almost like I had no filter at all. I know other reviewers mentioned they received non-genuine filters but the ones I received appear to be the real McCoy. I have a hard time finding the 14 x 14 x 1-Inch filter locally and when I do, its usually more expensive than I can find on Amazon. I tend to leave these filters in my cart and when the price comes down below $95 for a pack of 6, I buy them. However, usually the price remains above $100 and when that happens and Ive run out of filters I buy the

Ive been ordering these for awhile. Im giving it 4 stars because the most recent delivery is shrink wrapped rather than in a box. Once I slit the shrink wrap to remove a filter, the other five will be falling all over. Very annoying.
