> 3 dayI bought this for my son and was also gifted another of the same model. While one of the two was excellent, the other had poor intonation. In a toy that will give a child their first musical experience, its important that they are exposed to good intonation if you hope to start music lessons when theyre older. On another note, Fisher Price does not state that they use BPA-free plastic - somewhat concerning as my 13-month-old likes to chew on the mallet.

> 3 dayBought this toy as an Easter gift for our 10 month old granddaughter. She loves hitting the xylophone keys which make a pretty noise, but gets frustrated because the short cord pulls the mallet out of her hand. I know they made the cord short for safety reasons, but it makes the mallet practically unusable. We will be cutting the mallet free and attach a longer cord so she can actually pull the xylophone around now that she is walking.

02-12-2024I like the colors and look of this toy. Granddaughter likes it too. Although it can be loud when she plays with it, it is tolerable because of the musical notes. I agree with other reviews that string could be longer but am happy so far with this purchase.

> 3 dayMy grandson (almost 9 months old) likes to suck on the mallet and occasionally bang on the metal plates. Hes not super interested in listening to me play, which is fine, since the short string makes it almost impossible. I am planning on cutting the string soon, since I think once he starts wanting to actually play it, the short string will cause frustration. But this seems sturdier than some other ones we looked at, and it reminds me of the ones my own kids had when they were little. Overall, a good product and Id buy it again.

> 3 dayI appreciate that this product is lead free, supposedly. Not sure if the handle is BPA and phalate free since kids love to put that in their mouth. This is my child’s favorite toy at 9 months old.

> 3 dayThese have that perfect, grungy tonal quality you expect from Fisher Price - the shrill jingle of these keys really made my Morning Announcements (Im a principal).

> 3 dayGreat! But the string could be a little longer. Naturally he wanted to grab the end with the bigger piece and struggled to play the notes but he eventually understood. I’d made it longer if possible so we don’t have to remove it and lose it

> 3 dayHeh, heh, heh...the ultimate grandparents gift to a toddler! Its colorful, its extremely well-made as are all Fisher-Price toys & its loud :) I have vivid memories to this day of when my sons grandma and grandpa gave him his first Fisher-Price xylophone & it quickly became a favorite. It lasted through several other kids & I do believe he regifted it to a family member 25 yrs. later as soon as his own daughter grew out of it & into a keyboard. Now his son will have one, too. Sonny cant complain, as hes very big on family traditions. LOL
