> 3 dayThe name brand is worth the cost in my opinion. It seems to keep the tank cleaner longer between filter maintenance and cleaning.

> 3 dayIve got dirt-bottom/sand cap heavily planted tank, so theres a fair amount of debris. These clog up quickly and severely decrease the throughput of the filter. Not recommended unless youre willing to change these often. They do work extremely well to promote clear water and will work fine in average gravel bottom tanks.

> 3 dayAside from the white coarse pads surrounding the trays, I run two of these black sponges wavy side up in all three trays and thats all. I detail my fx6 every six months and it handles the bulk of filtration on my 125. I also run a HOB for supplemental water polishing

> 3 dayBuy off brand. I read reviews for others saying they were a tight fit and smaller holes. I bought these and they fit tight in FX4. They will do fine since they are made for the Fluval but next purchase will be another brand so I can save money.

> 3 dayTitle is misleading, says 3 pack but you only get 2. Picture shown is correct with a 2 pack. Other wise product is exactly as shown

> 3 dayI use these to clean the sides of my aquarium walls. They work great for cleaning both brown and green algaes off of the glass. I dont know what I would do without them - they work better and are safer than any other sponge or cleaning pad that I have seen.

> 3 dayIve been using this carbon impregnated foam pad in my Fluval FX6 for 2 years now. My aquarium water is always crystal clear. I change out the pad once a month and add some loose carbon into a knee hi and tie it off at the end and trim off the extra panty hose. A box of 10 pairs costs a few dollars and gives me 20 aquarium bags for added carbon or whatever I need to add. Ive been using the Fluval Impregnated foam pads and they work great but have never tried the cheaper pads that dont have a name but come with a bunch for cheap. I cant speak for any other pad but this here Fluval. I always believe that you get the quality that you pay for. > 3 dayThese are really nice and well made pads! Im using them in my FX5 for a while now. I usually split each pad in half as for me it is working better this way. It polishes the water and keeps it clear. I use 2 half pads in the filter, every time I clean the filter, I rinse one half in the filter water to keep the beneficial bacteria and pressure wash the second half using the garden hose to keep it looks like new. I change the pad every other cleaning. The price is reasonable.
