> 3 dayI have several router bits and Ive learned that Freud is the only way to go if you want a quality bit that wont break after a few uses. Yes, they are expensive, but the quality is well worth it.

> 3 dayI own Freud saw blades so when I needed a big router bit I wanted something good. Unfortunately this one chipped within the first 40 of board I ran through it. It arrived in a flimsy plastic package with Styrofoam holding the shank of the bit (which does not hold it tightly). Not the packaging I was expecting from Freud. When it was working it made a nice cut. Unfortunately it wasnt for long.

> 3 dayFreud makes the best router bits by far. I wont buy anything else. It give a perfect round over without any burning or chipping.

> 3 dayThis router bit worked really well rounding over the edges of my table top made of pine 2x4s. The bearing on the router bit is sturdy and rolls off the edges nicely. The only caveat is that I have yet to test it on harder wood species, so this rating may change later. The reason for the 4 star rating is that the price tag is a bit high as compared to other generic ones. While I understand the cost premium that comes with a brandname product, the cost difference seems to be a bit (pun intended) exorbitant.

> 3 dayFirst of all, I am very happy with the nice clean cut I get with rounding operations using this bit. Ive used it on elm end grain with no problems. Heres what ticks me off: 1. The additional cutting bits that make this a quadra are partial length and (as far as I can see) dont come into play with a simple rounding over operation. They come into play only when you do beading, which you cant do with this bit as it is. I would have bought the standard bit if I had known that. 2. In order to do beading you have to purchase ANOTHER bearing and washer to the tune of about $26. 3. If you decide its worth it to part with the $26, youll find that the bearing recommended for this bit has an ID of 3/16 The shank on the end of the bit is 1/4. Both amazon and the Freud website have the same conflicting information. Several other reviewers have had similar complaints. I would be glad to make this review more positive if Freud would provide some answers. So Freud, this is one of your customers with a problem. Your comments are welcome. Lets see if you care enough to respond.
