> 24 hourI love this stuff, and use it all the time. Ive ordered it twice. (I got the bright green color this time to make it easier to find in my toolbox. Or tool bag. Or tool pile.) I never buy duct tape. Gaffer tape sticks better, tears off the roll cleanly, remains flexible, and comes off when you want without leaving a residue. As a photographer, Ive been aware of the difference between gaffer tape and duct tape for a long time, but true gaffer tape is hard to find. Im glad I found it here on Amazon. ------- Editing to add: Just bought my third roll. There are so many uses for this tape. In addition to holding things in place for still life photography (including taping my muslin backdrop to the wall) I use it for my home improvement projects. Im remodeling my bathroom, and I used this to protect the threshold of my new shower pan and a PVC window sill. They would otherwise have gotten scuffed while working in the room. It holds firmly but comes off without tearing apart or leaving reside. I attached some trim with adhesive, and used this to hold it in place, knowing it would come off cleanly once the adhesive was dry. I like the bright green color because its easy to find when mixed up with other tools and parts. It also works well to write on for labeling parts or wires. I know this is a lot of words for just tape but it really is good stuff.

> 24 hourI use a good amount of gaff tape so to save money I have tried the cheaper brands and I keep coming back to this Real USA Pro Gaff tape. It’s strong tape and the adhesive is not weak like some other and née as it should be and doesn’t leave behind any residue either. I think the quality of the tape and the fact it does what it should, and doesn’t what it should not; it’s good tape for money if you use a lot as I do!

> 24 hourSo, some popular... fashionista has said that this is the strongest tape there is... Its not... It doesnt even work for me as boob tape like she suggested. Gaffer tape just doesnt have the hold I need for that. However, since it is gaffer tape, if you use it for what its intended for this stuff is great. I got a white roll to tape some speakers onto my wall because I live in an apartment and Im not allowed to put nails in the wall (the speakers have bits for hanging with nails). The walls are white, the tape is white, and when it comes time to move, being gaffer tape, it wont leave any adhesive residue behind. And thats what makes gaffer tape so great. Its about as strong as standard duct tape, but doesnt hold up under moisture quite as well. It certainly doesnt have the hold of Gorilla Tape or T-Rex Tape, but those, like all duct tapes, leave adhesive residue behind. If you care about not having to get adhesive off of surfaces that might be damaged by attempts to remove left over adhesive, and or that might be damaged by removing the tape if the adhesive is too aggressive, then gaffer tape is the right stuff to get.

> 24 hourI used this to facilitate rigging connection protection on the spreaders of my sailboat mast. I have not attempted to remove it yet so I cannot attest to removal, but it seems to adhere to clean aluminum just fine. I will update when I have more information. It shipped rapidly, the tape is of high quality, and it does what it is supposed to in context with the use I had for it, that of ensuring that the rigging wires of my sailboat stay put in the ends of the mast spreaders. I used boots to hold the wires, and this tape keeps those boots closed. I have seen masts where people used the tape alone to hold the wires, but I have not attempted that because I did not like the appearance of such efforts. To each his own I guess. This tape will likely enable that operation in as functional a way as using the boots first and just taping the boots in place..

> 24 hourI use this to patch holes in an upholstered bench that my cat loves to scratch. I have this bench as his designated scratching post that he can do whatever he wants with, but problem is he eats the stuffing if he gets in too far. The tape works well, he hasn’t been able to scratch through it or tear it off. This tape is a cheap solution. It doesn’t look pretty for what I’m using it for but it allows my cat to keep using the bench so that I can keep my other furniture nice.

> 24 hourI keep hoping that one of these off-brands will work well for half the price, but they dont do the job. They are much harder to tear cleanly, harder to pull the tape off the roll, and dont stick as well. The material is more plasticky rather than clothy like ProGaffe.

> 24 hourIll be the first to admit it. I just didnt get it at first. I didnt get this whole infatuation with gaffer tape. What the heck is gaffer tape anyway? Dont compare gaffer tape to duct tape like I did to a gaffer tape believer or youll spend the next 30 minutes of your life listening to how gaffer tape is used to secure all kinds of stuff to all sorts of other kinds of stuff. Dont be surprised if the person telling you this also tries to sneak in that Swiss doctors believe gaffer tape can cure cancer. Oh, and apparently its hand woven by monks that live in an isolated monastery somewhere. At the prodding of my gaffer-tape-friend, I purchased a role. I used it. Sure, it seems like good tape. But I still didnt get the hype. Then, a few days ago I re-watched the movie Snatch--you know, the one where Brad Pitt plays a bare-knuckled boxer-periwinkle-blue-caravan-salesman--and a light bulb went on in my head. I totally get gaffer tape now.....but its named the wrong thing. Gaffer tape should be called Gypsy tape! The whole point of this tape is to hold things in place for just a little while, and then be removed with no trace--just like a band of roving gypsies. Anyway, I try to use my gypsy tape as often as I can. If I find myself reaching for a roll of duct tape, I stop and ask myself if gypsy tape would be better. Im trying real hard to be a convert....Im just not there yet. Maybe its because I didnt go to film school or play the guitar. ####UPDATE 11/17/2016#### So I finally had a need to use gypsy tape where duct tape was not the best choice. I lost (well, maybe my kids lost it) the battery cover for my TV remote and I was going crazy having the batteries fall out all the time. I had used a piece of duct tape (at least it was black tape so it sort of blended with the color of the remote) but it left gooey stickiness behind. After cleaning it up, I applied some Gaffer tape and its been great! No messy, sticky residue left behind.

> 24 hourI cannot believe how wonderful this tape is. I taped up a sign on an outside brick wall. It has been rained on so many times and also has been frozen and its still holding strong! Ive used it on 2 metal cabinet doors that refuse to stay closed. The tape holds, pulls up easily to open the cabinets and sticks right back when I close them. They must have been opened 100 times and the tape is still working as if it were the first time. I have used it to tape up boxes, then realized that I left something out of the cardboard box. The tape pulled up easily with only about a 1 inch by 1/4 inch piece of paper pulling up from the box. The tape then resealed the box perfectly. When I went to put the box back in storage, it slipped in my hands and I was holding it upside down with the tape on the bottom. It was about 50 lbs and I thought sure that the tape would fail and everything would spill. It did not. The tape held fast. It has worked great around my windows to help keep out the cold. You know how sometimes you get tape crooked and when you pull it up to straighten it, the tape twists and sticks to itself? This has not happened at all with the GafferPower Gaffer tape. I also had a plastic bag in the freezer that tore. I used the Gaffer tape. About a month later, I removed it from the freezer and pulled it off of the plastic bag without a problem. I stuck it on the side of the fridge until I could throw it away. I forgot about it and 3 days later I noticed it on the fridge. I assumed it would fall right off having been in the freezer for a month. It did not. It was stuck well to the fridge and there was no residue left on my fridge when I removed it!!!!! How I wish I had known about this tape sooner. The clear package tape and the Duct tape are going in the back of the drawer only to be used in emergencies. Cant wait to try some of the other colors! It also does NOT hurt that this is made in the U.S.A. and is affordable!!!! I wish Amazon would sell more made in the USA products.

> 24 hourUPDATE: 1 Year Later -- Oct/2016 Just wanted to update, as someone who had never used this tape, a year ago, I now wish Id discovered it ages ago, because it is now my go to tape for so many things. Im many rolls into my use and experience with it, and I just keep finding great ways to use this in place of other tapes (particularly duct tape) I relied on, in the past, that just dont do anywhere near the job that this tape can do. I now have cords safely secured, I have protected phone lines on carpeted areas where once they were walked on, tripped over, and exposed to damage. I have used it as a means of temporarily securing things, without damaging paint on walls. I have even made straps out of it (sticking two pieces together) to secure routers to the walls in the office, so they are safe from falling over or off of a shelf. Ive reinforced storage boxes, made a container for my car trunk area (that has held up like steel), patched things, and the list of uses just goes on. This tape is super versatile. Plainly put, Gaffer Tape is INCREDIBLE stuff, and Im seriously glad I gave it a try. If youve always relied on other tapes in the past, please give this a try, because it is far superior to any other tape out there, in my experience, for what it can do, and it comes in handy for countless tasks. Im now a fan of this stuff, for life! ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW (October of 2015) Well, this is my first experience trying out this tape, which I bought to have an added option for those I NEED TAPE!!! moments that come up in life. Duct tape and electrical tape are great, but sometimes reach their limits -- and I REALLY like the appearance of this tape, far better than any other tape Ive seen. We all have those repair jobs we do, to save some bucks, and, nothing against good old duct tape, but it can look a little tacky sometimes, as we all know, and this tape has a matte, material surface, instead of the shiny vinyl look of duct tape, so I was happy to see that, for whatever needs come up, it will look far better and, based on reviews here, it will obviously perform very well also. My initial need was to create a storage box in my car trunk, and the project turned out well. I use race fuel additive, and of, course, I always keep a few cans in the trunk for fill ups, but got tired of them either rolling around, or stuck in a crummy old plastic bag. Now they are stored neatly, out of the way and the Gaffer Tape did well for this little project. Customer service from the seller here, WebGage, is PHENOMENAL. They answered all of my questions, plus they even send out a free guide about the Gaffer Tape, which came in very handy for me, as a first time buyer, trying this product. Im sure I will have a million more needs for this tape, as time goes on, and its awesome to now have another option. I already prefer it to duct tape, just on this first time use, and, now that Ive read their guide they sent out, I have even more needs that this tape can meet! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

> 24 hourIve been trying all summer to find a good sticky bra or a good way to tape my boobs for summer shirts. Kinesiolgy tape is the best, but I break out in massive blisters, so I had to find an alternative and tried this after reading an article about it for this use. I was really disappointed bc it is essentially duck tape with a cotton cover. It doesnt curve around your chest smoothly and it definitely comes unstuck when you sweat. It is softer to the touch than duck tape on the top, but is still really stiff, so you can see the creases under your shirts and definitely doesnt move well with your body at all. No matter how smooth it might have looked before actually getting dressed, it will eventually slide and crease and look awful, then it will pop loose before the end of the day. Now keep in mind, I did test it by wearing it all day in the 100 degree Texas weather. It might be awesome for its intended use recommended by the company, but not for this. I am going back to kinesiolgy tape, but wont clean my skin as well before applying it and wont wear it for days in a row again to avoid the blisters. It curves well and can be worn in the shower, pool, etc! Awe...the pain of beauty.
