Seems silly… I’ve painted for a while using a throw away plastic cup I got from my local gym which I thought worked ok. Impulse bought this water pot and I’m blown away. Wide base is very hard to knock over, ridges on the bottom help get paint out of the brush so you don’t have to smash the tip into the bottom or sides of the cup and the indentations on the side reshape your brush when it’s clean. Do you need it? No. Is it a huge quality of life improvement over a regular throw away paint cup? Absolutely.

The shape and depth of the cup are well designed, though I dont find the grooves on the inside of the cup very useful for shaping the brush. Maybe with more practice it would be easier, but I dont think its personally worth it. My biggest gripe with it is that the volume of water is too small, and so the liquid soils too fast and must be emptied too often.

Honestly it’s just a water cup lol. You could use any cup.

I bought this as an alternative to the Mason jar I always kept on my desk when painting. Pros: The inside of the cup has ridges and textures to help clean my brushes without causing damage. Convenient brush holder built into the lip of the cup. Small enough to fit onto pretty much any workstation. Wider base helps to ensure it wont get accidently bumped and spilled too easily. Cons: Its made by Citadel so its pricey. Much smaller than I expected. I find I have to empty and refill it more often than my old Mason jar. Material is a pretty light weight plastic. I really thought it would be a bit more robust than it is. Overall, if this was a gift, I would love it. Since I paid for it myself, not as hyped. It is a good product which has a few perks but overall just a bit to expensive for what you actually get. Stick to a large bowl/Mason jar, etc.
