Greater than one weekI use the Varia with the Edge 830. It picks up cars about 150 yards back and will register multiple cars. I also have a mirror but I can’t look at that all the time. I ride in farmland and there is zero shoulder to ride so early warning is great. It a great early warning system. If you live where there’s a lot of traffic the Varia will be constantly giving warning, maybe annoying?

04-06-2025Garmin Varia is like a seat belt for your car, can’t ride them without them. A must have.

Greater than one weekI highly recommend this item. You just have to find a bike computer that is compatible with it. I often rife on streets and this always lets me know when cars are behind me. One of my best investments on my bike.

> 3 dayDespite cycling in the city, the RVR315 does a good job to let me know how many vehicles are behind me. Good to have its assistance to complement the side mirrors.

Greater than one weekThis was for my kid whos into competitive cycling and we (parents) were worried when he goes out for several hrs and we wanted him to be safe. The extra $20 for the newer model is worth the extra cost. According to my kid, it requires getting used to the loud beeping noise - he said not to use it if you are in a group ride. Very bright light too.

> 3 dayI cant believe I slept on this for so long, it works really well! I get an accurate count of the number of cars behind me along with their relative distance and speed. The integration with the Edge head units is great, it beeps quite loudly when a new vehicle is detected (even if there are already vehicles its tracking) and is unintrusive to the data display (I have 8 fields on my main screen). Would recommend this to anyone that does any riding in traffic, even in low traffic to get to/from a group ride (which is mostly me!), the safety aspect is fantastic — by knowing when cars are coming, and how fast and how many, I can start to turn my head to track them to ensure theyre not endangering me, and prepare to take evasive action if needed.

> 3 dayGreat functionally, but mediocre app. Device stopped working 1 month after warranty expired.
