Scissors like these are great for grading seams. With them you can easily cut next to seams without accidentally cutting the seam stitches. They work well for trimming appliqué, too. I bought a pair of these for my sister-in-law.

I bought these to cut pile on my wool tapestry weaving and they work perfectly. My mechanically-minded husband was admiring their quality when I opened the package and had to further inspect them before letting me take them to the studio. He said they looked perfectly manufactured.

You just cant go wrong with Gingher scissors. They are my favorite brand. These make cutting the fabric on appliques much easier.

Best applique scissors ever!!! Super sharp to get clean cut but also allows for very close cut next to tack down stitch without cutting the stitches. Cant imagine appliqueing without them!

These are great! Very sharp and fun to use. I have another pair that are smaller and have padded handles which make for much easier cutting and no pain on the pressure points (thumb) but I do like my Ginghers..
