> 24 hourMust have tool in the shop. I like that it keeps your hand away from danger. I used to make push sticks from scraps and doesnt give me enough leverage to hold the wood from drfting.

> 24 hourYes, they are expensive. But losing a finger would be more expensive. Buying these was the best investment Ive made in safety equipment. I love these. Aside from the safety reasons for getting them, I find that my cuts have less blade burns. I am able to keep a better feed rate on the workpiece. And thin cuts are a breeze. Definitely, a must have for my shop.

> 24 hourDespite the somewhat high price tag and plastic components this is not a toy. It is a worthy tool and safety system. There is so much adjustability that this system can account for. Yes it does have many pieces and there is a learning curve to getting good with it, but it is worth it. The high friction pads are exactly that. They have excellent grip and create a secure hold and push system. This double pack has enough components to get you up and running to handle a lot of different stocks and cuts. Crosscuts and rips are easier to accomplish on odd shaped stock. Combine this with a SawStop and youve got a really good safety system in place. 5 stars.

> 24 hourOpening the box youll discover two sets of pretty much everything sold for the Grr-Ripper, each in their retail packaging. Kinda of like Christmas - many packages to open. When youre done assembling (watch the videos available online!!!) youll have two phenomenal push handles. Its not simple to use at first - theres a learning curve. Between all the adjustments and features youll need some time to modify your work-flow. Youll use the Grr-Ripper in place of many little mods you may currently use. Spacers, how to secure small pieces, etc. It does require that you remove the blade guard - but if youre like me, that went the day you setup your table saw.

> 24 hourThe concept of this product is quite interesting and in practice can prevent injuries. That being said, it will take some practice for this to be the push “stick” that I reach for first. This is well made hefty. This double dose will also take up valuable shop space which is rarely available. The assembly is straight forward but tedious. And, not all of the parts included in the box need to be added to the base unit until you actually need them. Determining which accessory to use when and when two of these are needed means more practice time. Use of this requires planning, set-up and paying close attention. Grabbing the handle and just pushing things through means making sure there is clearance on the sides for the outrigger pieces. Unless you are the type that has to have everything, this is pretty costly for the average home shop. Study the information and compare it with how much and how often you make cuts that would be made easier/safer by having not only one but also two of these.

> 24 hourThis review is for the Micro Jig GRR-RIPPER Complete Double Pack Limited Addition. I enjoy woodworking as a hobby at home. Up to now I have been using conventional push sticks, push blocks, and a feather jig with my table saw. While that seems to work fine for most things I use my table saw for I was interested to see what this GRR-Ripper kit had to offer that might be better. The kit arrives in a single carton containing two GRR-Ripper advanced push blocks and two of all current accessories available to use with them. It is a little intimidating at first as there is substantial assembly required involving a lot of small parts. Everything is well-packaged, and printed instructions are included although my kit did not have the instructional DVD advertised to come with it. I found it most useful to watch the instructional videos on the Micro Jig web site before trying to assemble my GRR-Ripper blocks as it makes understanding the assembly process a lot simpler. I assume this may also be on the instructional DVD that I was lacking. I will say the instructional videos are all very thorough and informative and show you not only how to assemble the GRR-Ripper but also how to use all of its available features. Once you get everything assembled, adding or subtracting accessories and adjusting the push blocks is quite easy. To use the GRR-Ripper push blocks to take full advantage of what they have to offer requires you to remove the key safety feature on most all table saws, the blade guard. At first I was very concerned about doing this, for safety reasons, but the push blocks themselves act like a blade guard throughout most of the process of ripping. Keep in mind, there is still an unguarded, spinning saw blade once you complete your cut, and you still need to exercise caution to make sure you do not have your hands or arms anywhere near the blade until the saw is turned off. That said, the push blocks by their very design allow you to control a piece of wood during the rip process much more than you otherwise could with just a conventional push block and/or push stick. Since you are maintaining pressure from above, behind, and against the fence with the push block during this process you end up with a very clean cut with no burning or tearing. It eliminates the need for a feather jig while ripping. The GRR-Ripper grips the wood so well that the two cut pieces remain together even as you move them away from the blade on the table. Where this product really shines is when ripping thin strips of wood which would otherwise be a lot more difficult to do. You can safely rip very thin strips down to 1/8 inch with the included 1/8 inch leg accessory (assuming, of course, that you are also using a zero clearance blade insert on your table saw). I have not had occasion to try it on my band saw, jointer, or router table yet, but the GRR-Ripper push block would be equally useful, and certainly a lot safer, when using those tools. One thing to note is that you may not necessarily need all of the accessories that come in this kit. The GRR-Ripper push blocks are sold individually, as are all of the replacement parts and accessories, so you can spend a lot less money by purchasing just a push block or two and then purchasing accessories later as needed. I haven’t priced it out to see how much it would cost to buy everything individually, but I would imagine there is a cost savings by purchasing this all-inclusive set. In summary, the Micro Jig GRR-RIPPER Complete Double Pack Limited Addition set is the ultimate push block set for any woodworker to own. It enables you to very safely make highly controlled cuts while using not only a table saw but also a band saw, router, and jointer. This set looks like it is a limited edition item and may not be available long term, so if you want the complete system all in one package this is the way to go. It’s expensive, but I can’t imagine a safer way to do the things this set can do, and a visit to the emergency room would cost a whole lot more.
