This is a great lightweight insulated backpacking cup! Can pull the cup from the sleeve and graduated makings make it a measuring cup.

After reading reviews from a plethora of backpackers, almost all pointed to this mug as the best value backpacking mug, so I thought Id give it a try. It is very lightweight which is important to me. The koozie means the cup isnt too hot to hold. The spill-proof lid is actually spill-proof. I turned my cup of hot coffee upside down to test this and not a drop spilled. It also wont burn your lips like a metal mug will do. I like to mix coffee with hot chocolate and the lid allows me to just shake all the ingredients together without worry of a mess. I also like that the inserted mug is also a measuring cup with more detail than my backpacking stove. Hence, this mug also makes cooking easier. The handle is floppy fabric. This may seem like a negative quality, but I dont think so. It still provides security when I slide my hand through it to hold the mug without adding real weight or bulkiness. I would NOT recommend using it to clip your mug to the outside of the pack. That will only secure the koozie and not the mug. You could risk the mug sliding out of the koozie to your dismay when you arrive at camp sans cup. That would be very sad. So, I toss it in my pack. While in my pack, it serves as a the case that holds my headlamp. I am very happy to have purchased this as my backpacking mug. In truth, I like to bring it with me on all my travels.

Love these cups. The cup removes from the sleeve making it easy to wash or measure with. The sleeve is easy to clean as well and the handle has come in handy more than once. Very lightweight and can easily be clipped onto the outside of a pack for easy travel.

I wanted a mug I could keep at my desk at work without being afraid of dropping and breaking it, thatd be easy to clean and would keep my coffee warm a little longer than a standard ceramic mug, and then bring home on the weekends for some backpacking. This mug exceeds expectations! It weights nothing, has the backpacker aesthetic I was looking for, and keeps my drinks warmer longer (as noted, its NOT an insulated mug. But for the weight Id argue you cant get much better). I havent tried backpacking with it yet, but it seems well suited for backcountry use. My only complaint is that after two weeks of heavy use (2-3 hot drinks a day, taking it out of the sleeve after each one to rinse out), the measurement indicators are starting to smudge off of the cup onto the inside of the sleeve. Honestly, I dont even think this deserves a whole star off, but I cant do partial stars. 4.9 out of 5!

It’s not a revolutionary item but it comes with nice features. It has graduated measurements on the side of the cup so it can work as a camp measuring cup as well as an insulated cup. Its only a single wall plastic cup but the covering looks like nylon backed neoprene. It’s not very thick but I can guarantee it holds hot coffee longer than a stainless camp cup. It’s very light and the cloth handle is actually still very useful and tucks out of the way for storage. The lid is spill proof when sealed and the rubberized bottom will let it rest at a pretty steep angle without sliding. With proper packing the cup could effectively hold multiple beverage mixes, cooking spices, or even pre-prepared recipe portions. All in all it’s a handy cup that I think wiould be a welcome bit of kit to anyone’s camping and hiking accessories.

Well it is just a plastic mug with an insulator around it. Works great.

I like this mug for backpacking. Super light, and has markings for measuring liquids so you dont have dry rice or soupy pasta.. the handle is soft so it doesnt take pack space.

The insulating sleeve contains a plastic measuring cup inside for measuring water (multi-function). The insulating sleeve will keep liquid hot for a good 15 minutes and warm 45 minutes as long as the top is closed. Speaking of - the top closes with enough stick to keep it shut while you shuffle the cup around camp. Im able to fill the cup with hot coffee, close the lid and tie the cup to my pack. The cup stays secure swinging on my pack until I take it off to enjoy a cup of still-warm coffee later down the trail. Loved it so much I bought the wife one. Id buy it again if I were to lose it.
