Hakko 611-2 Dual Solder Reel Stand, Black

I cant argue with any of the reviews here. Everyone seems to have nailed this gem for the bench. What I havent seen yet is how this thing can be modified to get more use from it. Attached are a few photos showing the addition of two Magnetic base dial indicator holders ($15.00 each) with alligator clips (10c each). The photos say it all. The two holders can be used to hold any number of things that need to be soldered, in practically any position. Best reel holder around. The handle is great, solder dispenses easily off the spool, very sturdy. I own two and Ill probably get a third.

Helpfull tool

Works great to hold solder securely and makes work area more efficient. It has a very heavy base and sturdy construction. Currently have two full rolls of 1 lb 60/40 solder in it for a total of 2 lbs. Use it with .020 and .031 inch diameter solder regularly. Sometimes use .015 in it. Able to pull all three diameters of solder without solder breaking off. The axles roll smoothly and easily in stand with a full roll. Use Kester solder, so those reviews with solder breaking off when pulling might be using cheaper grades of solder instead of a good quality solder. Cant blame stand for cheap alloyed solder. Stand makes storing and retrieving solder easy, less clutter on bench, allows 2 different diameters of solder or alloys to be accessed fast, easy to swap out spools if needed. Would have like to have had this years ago defiently a worthwhile buy.

I needed something to hold solder while I work with. This did that. Was easy to put together. was able to hold four spools of solder, each with different thickness.Easy to use, easy to store.

Built from heavy steel plates, which make it sturdy, and rubber padding stops it from sliding everywhere. Though the only issue I have is that the wire guide is bit flimsy, and since its not fixed, it tends to move downwards.
