05-06-2025This is by far the best iron for doing stained glass work that I have been able to find. I do stained glass work for a living, and this is the only iron I will use. If you are using it all day every day like I do, the heating element will go out after about a year. But Ive found that is true with most irons. This one is consistently as hot as I need it to be, and reliable, and will continue to be my iron of choice for my work.

> 3 dayExcellent iron. Absolutely love it. I wouldve gladly given 5 stars until the original tip developed a dead area--actually its a hole in the tip! I am not using it 10 hours a day or anything, I probably didnt even use it 300 hours in the 11 months that I owned it. So, unfortunately I give it a 4 stars For excellent performance but faulty tip. Also--the replacement tip COSTS TWICE what the other tips cost! WHY?!?! That is a load of crap.

> 3 dayAs a long time user of the Weller Model GT Soldering Gun, I needed a replacement as the Weller Powerheads are no longer made like they used to. I found this was being used at my local glass shop. They raved about it. So, I bought one. My turn to rave about it. It took getting used to the new feel, but the results are outstanding. I wont be using anything else. Thank you for a great product.

Greater than one weekThe soldering iron comes without instructions. I plugged it in and waited several minutes for the iron to heat up but, although the body got quite warm, the tip was cooler than body temperature. I tried it in several outlets but the malfunction was with the iron. We disassembled it to find that the ceramic heating element had broken in half. Even the half still attached to the soldering iron did not heat up. I am returning this and trying again in my search for a soldering iron.

> 3 dayI loved this iron at first, but it died after 3 months. Hakko would only repair it, not replace it. Since having it repaired by them, it turns on, but doesnt stay hot. Their next answer was for me to purchase their special tip cleaner. Im not throwing good money after bad.

Greater than one weekGreat iron still in shock at the speed this thing will heat up in. Started a stopwatch when I plugged it in and had a 18 gage wire tinned 11 seconds later.
