18-11-2024This iron is lighter weight and tip control is much better than other irons that I have purchased. It is so much easier to use and sodering is more precise.

> 3 dayI like it a lot. It has a narrower tip than my previous iron which is nice for smaller projects. It was a little tricky to figure out what setting to use as I am used to an iron being use with a rheostat. This one is also in celsius which is tricky for an American to figure out. I read online to set it at the highest setting for doing foil work. That may be right for doing a flat window or maybe tinning; but I found it way too hot for doing edge work on small suncatchers for example. I now set that on about 360. So, now that I have discovered that I need to change the temperature settings for various work, I like the iron much more. A real advantage of this iron is how quickly it heats up. It seems to react to turning on and resetting temperatures in about 60 seconds.

> 3 dayI teach stained glass at the senior center in albuquerque. I recommend the Hakko to all my students. It is light weight and the temperature control feature is priceless. I wont use anything else when teaching how to solder their works of art.

> 3 dayI used it once and I noticed that it wouldnt melt the solder right, but i thought it was probably my flux or something else. But, then the second time i used it, it didnt heat up anymore. I waited almost an hour to see if it heated up, but no. I disconnected it and connected it again and it didnt heat up anymore.
