Hakko FX601-02 Adjustable Temperature Controlled Soldering Iron, 67 Watts

All of the stained glass artist I know use this iron! Light weight and adjustable temperature feature works great!

It works very well, the cord is too heavy and not pliable for a iron that is energy efficient that is an overkill.

I love that it has temp control, but it is not easy to regulate the temperature. So I have to play with it a bit to get it where I need it to be.

The larger capacity T19 tips add a lot of performance to this iron. Think of it as a cheaper Hakko fx-888d without a clunky station but just as powerful.

Works really well. Been doing stained glass for 30 years and the cheap irons will make you want to quite. Not this one!

My wife uses it heavily in her stained glass and is very happy with its performance.

So far it is great. Handle does get warm to the touch; you notice it when you are holding it; not hot enough to burn but added heat in the summertime! Also, I noticed after about 3 weeks I have a little pitting on the tip already. It took 6 years before I saw pitting on my old soldering iron... I use the iron about 6 hours a week.

Although I am just in the beginning stages of learning the art of stained glass, I am finding my Hakko FX601-02 to be awesome to work with. It is a nice weight, fits into your hand perfectly and I find it much easier to work with than the others I have tried! I am very happy with my purchase!

It was what we where hoping for.

Stained glass works very well like the smaller tip and less weight of other irons
