> 3 dayI went for the best rated soldering iron to my stained glass hobby so I didnt mind shelling out the extra money. The 1st iron wouldnt heat up found a very small hole in the ceramic rod, I figured in was a fluke. So bought another HAKKO FX601-02 this time the entire ceramic rod broke in half. Save your money get a different brand.

> 3 dayI went back and forth trying to decide if I should spend the extra money to purchase this soldering iron (as my first), as opposed to some of the cheaper options. I knew the cheaper options worked well enough, because its what I learned with. After reading countless reviews on how this is just by far the best out there, I decided to go for it. WOW OH WOW. I cant get over the difference. It is so smooth, and so comfortable to hold. I didnt think that it could make that big of a difference, but it really does. If youre questioning it - just go with this. It is a pure joy to use.

> 3 dayOne less star for a bit slow building up to melting a cross joint on lead came, so I guess I need more power at times. Makes slight pulsing sound. LED informative. Excellent temperature control.
