> 3 dayBeen battling a pantry moth infestation that got into my garden room through some bird seed I had stored. Its unreal how resourceful these little jerks are - they get all established before you even realize theres an issue. One day you ask, Why are there so many of these things and the answer soon becomes apparent that theyve moved in without asking. They got behind my window casements for heavens sake. I cant reach there to vaccuum them out. They also did get into one half of my food pantry and I had to toss some food they got into and vacuum that out as well, hard to do because they get into the shelf peg holes, even. Since they were living in areas I could not reach with my water vac attachments, I deployed this desiccant to their habitat instead. Hee hee. So this stuffs messy and I used the dispenser wrong at first but basically I just ineptly dusted this stuff in every area I saw them and let it sit. It has taken about five weeks or so but their population numbers finally just bottomed out and Im no longer seeing them in anywhere near the numbers I used to. We also spent weeks manually killing the flying ones we saw with an electrified racket (more satisfying than youd think) and I also deployed pantry moth traps that also seem to work well and are doing a good job helping me gauge the problem. You can win against them but it takes a sustained effort. You dont have to be perfect, this stuff WORKS. A spate of nice weather apparently spurred a bunch of them to hatch out earlier this month, we took care of that phalanx and since then have seen only a few sporadically which we also dispatched. Im super happy with this stuff, it clearly affects the moths, if they touch it they seem to have trouble flying as well. It doesnt work immediately and you have to address the issue with a multipronged approach. This is the big center prong. This is the stuff you want if youre battling pantry pests. Give yourself a leg up and use this, its natural, safe, and has no effect my pets. Wear goggles and a mask when youre applying it so you dont breathe any in. Once the air is clear and the stuff is on surfaces, youre good. It kills insects by drying them out. Kinda genius if you ask me! I dont think I will have to call an exterminator after all.

Greater than one weekI like to use diatomaceous earth to kill bugs in my house but it can be messy to apply around the baseboards. I bought this brand because they include the applicator bottle. It helps to apply because I pump the container and a burst of earth comes out, sometime more than I want, but then I use a small artists brush to push the earth into place. I have used Victor roach traps for years and really like the product. I dont have roaches, but lots of others small bugs get trapped so I know I have bugs in the house. I use the earth along the baseboards because that is how many bugs move around, they walk next to the baseboards. I have left some Victor roach traps in each room to verify if I still have bugs and I do not see any bugs so I know the earth is doing its job.

> 3 dayMy house was infested with fleas and my pets do not go out side at all. I used this all through my house and it took about 48 hours and they were gone. applied it again about 5 days later as some baby fleas were showing up and I left it down for 3 days. That was a few weeks now and there are no fleas.. Awesome stuff.

> 3 daySilicates dust so put a mask on and safety glasses to protect your lungs and eyes. Better to have gloves as it dessicated skin. It is food grade as some people ingest it, but ask your doctor first and if you can take it, always drink a lot of water: it dehydrates badly. Anyway, put just a bit and spread it to obtain a thin layer. I use it only at the entrance of the garage where we have too many coach roaches.

> 3 dayWe had a major ant problem in and around our house and I sprayed this powder around the edges on the outside of the house and behind cabinets and along baseboards etc inside in order to help repel and kill the ants. We had such a large ghost ant population around here, that I had to use various efforts to discourage them from coming in the house. I used this and boric acid at the same time because I just wanted to make sure that something would work. I also sprayed all around the house and put ant stakes inside and outside. But I know this works, because there have been times that I used it with nothing else. The problem with all these anti-ant substances or methods is that what often happens is THE ANTS DIE IN TRANSIT. So I began to find dead ants here and there and everywhere. They often die before they get back to their nest, and in fact they die sometimes on their way into the house after crossing over the path of the boric acid or diatomaceous earth or poison. So Ive been finding dead ants here and there around my house for over a month now, and I keep hoping they will leave me alone, but they seem intent on wanting to live in and around my house even though I dont leave out food or anything. By the way I was told these are called ghost ants. They seem to be everywhere in the area of Central Florida I was living in. One warning is to be very careful not to breathe diatomaceous earth. It can actually cause damage to your lungs if you breathe too much of it. I see many people using it carelessly. Be careful! For example when you open the bag, the powder begins to sift into the air immediately which reaches your lungs, so I advise wearing a good mask such as an n95 when messing with this stuff. It is almost impossible to use it in any way without it getting into your air space. So you have to be careful. People seem to think because you can actually mix this with water and drink it if it is the right type, that it is not dangerous. No it is not dangerous to drink it in water, but it is dangerous to breathe it in its normal dry form. I also use this as a gnat killer by spraying it on top of the soil of my potted plants. This seems to be working well. Diatomaceous earth has many uses, so I recommend you read about it, but use it responsibly. I gave it only four stars, because the sprayer that they give you with it doesnt really work very well. At times it doesnt spray out at all and other times it sprays too much. It is very difficult to control the sprayer. Ive seen other sprayers of this type that work better.
