> 3 dayI used the filter in my small salon suite while performing nail services. I was getting dry burning eyes because of the fume exposure from acetone and Gel Polish. It was also nice to have when I was performing pedicures from all of the dust from filing. The filter was great at removing the airborne particles. I would also let it run when I left the room with the door shut and come back to an odor free suite. As for home use, I keep it running in my bedroom, especially at night, knowing I am breathing in much cleaner air. I applied a strong peppermint essential oil to a tissue and placed it on the intake side of the unit to test the ability of odor filtering. I was happy to note that there was absolutely no smell present in the output. I sometimes turn it around when its stuffy so the air being exhausted blows on me, like a fan. Great filter!

> 3 dayWas looking for replacement filters for my older Holmes Fan/Air Purifier. Originally it came with Type A filters, but Holmes has since upgraded to their AER1 line. I had trouble deciding on a type, as I was confused why, of all the options, it seemed like some of the filters did the same things but for different prices. One BIG DIFFERENCE I discovered after ordering these filters, is that the recommended replacement time is different for these filters: 4-month replacement: Odor Eliminator, Smoke Grabber, Total 12-month replacement: Allergy (Allergen Remover), Allergy Performance Plus There are other distinct differences which I found very hard to locate: -- all the 4-month replacement filters seem to have 99% filter strength, -- the 4-month replacement filters are HEPA-type filters (not authentic certified, just very similar) -- the 12-month filters (allergen remover & performance plus) filter 99.97% and 99.99% of allergens, respectively, -- the 12-month filters are True HEPA filters, -- the Odor & Smoke filters seem to have carbon and Zeolite infusion, Most all of the filters are going to filter the same things, the difference is just how good you want the filter to be, and what you want to filter: -- debris and allergens -- pollen, dust, debris, dust mite debris, mold, pet dander, smoke, VOCs (like cleaning product chemicals in the air). -- odors -- tobacco smoke odors, pet odors, dirty laundry odors, and cooking fumes. If I were to rank the strength of the filtering ability, I would rank them the following way (with 5 being the strongest filter): (1) Total Air, (2) Odor Eliminator, (3) Smoke Grabber, (4) Allergen Remover, (5) Allergy Performance Plus ---> But it is worth noting that the Smoke Grabber and Allergen Remover filters do not include Arm & Hammer infusion, and the Allergen Remover filter also does not claim to reduce odors from pets, tobacco smoke, cooking fumes and other unpleasant household odors. For me, the Odor Eliminator was the cheapest filter (currently $8.99 for a pack of 2), and I didnt have any huge specific needs to filter one thing more strongly than another (like allergies, odors, or fumes), so I just got the basic filters to keep my air clean. However, knowing that the Performance Plus needs to be replaced only every 12 months, it would have made sense to get that for $18.99 for a pack of 2...

> 3 dayI normally let our central air system do the filtering in our house, but during the summer months when allergy season kicks in and the occasional smoke from distant forest fires, I put my 3 filter on full blast through out the house. I normally get headaches from forest fire smoke but within 24 hrs of running these, and staying indoors, that problem goes away. I try to change these every 4-5 months, you can tell they are near done as they look like the pictures above. The old filter i on the left and the new one is on the right. I think they do there job pretty good... that said, I notice there is some generic looking filters (https://amzn.to/2ZkSPYA) that are significantly cheaper being sold on Amazon, so Im likely going to try those the next time.

Greater than one weekMost of the time, the off brand products work just fine. I did not find that to be the case with this type of replacement filter. These AER filters are worth every penny. Change your filters regularly!!! These are the best filters period!

> 3 dayThis filter works great to eliminate pet and smoke odors. It has no scent but that’s a good thing as it’s supposed to eliminate odors, not introduce new ones.
