when ever I change the filter it is disgusting, so I’m guessing it’s working because it’s catching all that stuff

Warning!: The green hepa allergen filter is listed as a pack of 2. Watch out! This is incorrect. It only comes with one filter. If you thought you were getting a deal, youre not. I wish amazon would correct their title description for the green allergen filter. The quality of these filters are great, though a bit expensive. I have a small air purifier in my bedroom and a dog and forced air a/c heat. That filter needs to be changed quarterly or 3x a year, not annually like the website recommends. Once my filter starts getting grey, I order a new one. I have a large (2 filter) standing aer1 air purifier in my basement and it totally takes away all the musty or damp smells. I also run a dehumidifier 24/7. Those filters need changing probably more like 2x a year. Dont wait a year! Dont wait until your filter is black! I inspect my filters monthly, then wipe down the outside of the purifier and handwash the black foam pre filter with water and a little dish soap, it gets super dirty and dusty. I hang dry that and put it right back in. Like I said I replace my aer1 filters every 3-6 months. I have two aer1 purifiers in my house (bedroom and basement), and a large levoit air purifier machine in the living room. My furnace has a merv 13 filter on it. So Im pretty happy with my setup, since I have severe allergies, a dog, and a forced air heating system. My allergies are totally under control. My air smells fresh and clean, even with the dog. And the dust is drastically reduced.

dirty air goes in, clean air comes out. You cant explain that.

I am very pleased with these! I have two older models of the small air filters that Holmes has discontinued/revamped. It used to be such a pain to buy new air filters for it because it ended up running at close to $50 for two filters. For some reason, $50 seems like an astronomical cost for a couple of air filters, even if theyre only changed twice a year. It adds up and in previous years, I havent necessarily had the income for that but I have had the need for the purifiers due to allergies. These filters fit inside my older models, are packaged in much smaller and easier to deal with packages, and run at about $15 per filter which is awesome. I am so glad they updated the filter to bring down the cost and so glad that they made it so that it works with older models. It helps keep my allergies under control and is definitely within my budget now!

I bought my holmes air purifier directly from Holmes and a few back up filters.. to replace my now discontinued honeywell. My holmes purifier is much nicer by far then my old honeywell, which lasted about 6 years. But review is about the filters... My old honeywell you actually had to squeeze the sides of the filter to pop it in, kind of cheap, and still had a slight rattle when turned on. Not with Holmes. There is a slot in which you easily guide by pushing through/over this arm built into the purifier. Then, when putting on the front grill, lockes it all in place making a really great seal. No rattling at all. I usually keep a few as back up on hand as I mainly use my purifier for white noise and cant sleep with out it. So if all the sudden I need a new filter, I can pull one out I got in reserve, then order a replacement so I always have two spares on hand at any given time.

Work great, pricy. I get headaches from printer toner and these really help me do my job with less pain. I have it near the printer and it really helps.

These fantastic little filters, while not being actually HEPA rated (theyre HEPA-type) do an amazing job of catching all the detritus floating around our house. We have a cat and a dog, and both are in a constant state of confusion over what season it is thanks to the miracles of indoor air conditioning, and so are always bulking up fur and then shedding it. I bought a tower style air purifier for our bedroom on a whim, and these as its replacement filters, not really expecting much. After four months, I went to swap them out and was amazed/disgusted by the amount of stuff trapped in these filters. Im actually going to be changing them every three months now instead of every four. Weve noticed a marked improvement in air quality (in particular, my wifes allergies seem to be less triggered - even though these arent true HEPA filters, they still do a great job reducing allergens in the air), and have bought an additional air purifier were running in another room with the same filters. I cant imagine upgrading to the true HEPA filters would be worth it for what they cost, when these already do such a great job.

Most of the time, the off brand products work just fine. I did not find that to be the case with this type of replacement filter. These AER filters are worth every penny. Change your filters regularly!!! These are the best filters period!

I ordered the product and unboxed I was pleased. the plastic didnt feel cheap neither did the filter paper or any of the construct of the product. I went to give it a whiff to see if I noticed anything wrong with the smell of the products and loan and behold.. it smelled of some sort of gas fume? ammonia? not sure but it was so strong my dog ran out of the room! I hope this smell does not persist and I also hope the product was not tampered with. if i am allowed to re-review I will go ahead and do so in the near future when we see how effective it is. im concerned right now with that gas smell.

Not real positive that this filter is any better than the regular but giving it a chance. The filters are great no matter which you use.
