IF YOURE TRYING TO USE THIS TO COMPLETELY GET RID OF THE SMELL OF CANNABIS, THIS IS VERY USEFUL BUT NOT 100% EFFECTIVE FOR DABS. NOT VIABLE FOR ACTUAL HERB SMOKE. This filter even when you add another layer of aftermarket activated carbon to it will NOT filter out dab smoke 100%. When you exhale a dab directly into a tower-style, dual filter Holmes purifier, a CONSIDERABLE amount of dab smoke will escape the filter. Id even go as far to say its only 75% effective at removing dab smoke. Adding additional layers of carbon improve the performance, but only by about 10% so dab smoke WILL end up passing through the machine and will be blown into the room, which isnt ideal. Sure it will eventually clear the smoke, but it is still flawed in that sense. This makes it ABSOLUTELY NOT VIABLE AT ALL for actual herb smoke if youre trying to conceal the smell of herb. TRUST ME, IF YOU ONLY USE THIS AS A SINGLE PRECAUTION, IT WILL FAIL. If you take combine this with exhaling your dabs into a carbon sploof like a Smokebuddy then you will be much better off. Ideally, youd want to be using a purifier with two filters instead of one cause two are obviously going to filter the air more efficiently. These are USEFUL but they are not going to 100% eliminate the odor of cannabis oil smoke and especially not herb. If you can afford the SMOKE line of filters and can add carbon to those, those are SUBSTANTIALLY better than the ODOR filter at removing the smell of cannabis. The ODOR line only has carbon and zeolite to filter out smells while the SMOKE filter seems to have both as well as a final layer of a HEPA-type filter thats supposedly infused with odor compound. In terms of weight, there is definitely more filter material in the SMOKE filters. They feel much more hefty compared to the ODOR ones. Id go as far as to say a brand new SMOKE filter is 90% effective at removing dab smoke when directly exhaling into the purifier. Combine the SMOKE filters with a Smokebuddy and some towels under the door in a small room and Id say youre golden.

This filter works great to eliminate pet and smoke odors. It has no scent but that’s a good thing as it’s supposed to eliminate odors, not introduce new ones.

Most of the time, the off brand products work just fine. I did not find that to be the case with this type of replacement filter. These AER filters are worth every penny. Change your filters regularly!!! These are the best filters period!

Bought these filters to replace the two that I had already, which needless to say were getting dirty after several months worth of use. Though Amazon claims these might not be compatible with my unit (Holmes air purifier HAP9225B), I read in a few reviews that they are compatible after all, so I felt somewhat comfortable buying the two that I needed. As far as I can tell, they work and fit perfectly. My only complaint is their price. At $20-ish a pop, given their small size (about as big as a large book), and that I had to buy two for my unit, I would have preferred they be a little cheaper. But at least you dont have to replace them for a few months, so theres that....

I didnt know if other products were the real deal, so I paid more to get something that looked trustworthy given that we are in emergency conditions from wildfire smoke. You never totally know whats genuine, but this one came in what looks to be original packaging and was sealed in plastic. It also looks just like the old one (except for the filth of course). I was very thankful that it was delivered the very next day, since we needed it STAT. I cant vouch for it working yet since I just installed it, but I havent seen any of the white powder reported by a few.

These dont have too great a smell of their own, by me, although my extremely sensitive sibling may disagree. They do cut most of the smoke that drifts through our apartment walls, but still not completely effective against both the putrid electronic air freshener that comes through from the apartment below us, and whatever (rot? mold?) is behind the wall by the vanity that the pipes run through - we havent found anything that kills those, yet.

I bought my holmes air purifier directly from Holmes and a few back up filters.. to replace my now discontinued honeywell. My holmes purifier is much nicer by far then my old honeywell, which lasted about 6 years. But review is about the filters... My old honeywell you actually had to squeeze the sides of the filter to pop it in, kind of cheap, and still had a slight rattle when turned on. Not with Holmes. There is a slot in which you easily guide by pushing through/over this arm built into the purifier. Then, when putting on the front grill, lockes it all in place making a really great seal. No rattling at all. I usually keep a few as back up on hand as I mainly use my purifier for white noise and cant sleep with out it. So if all the sudden I need a new filter, I can pull one out I got in reserve, then order a replacement so I always have two spares on hand at any given time.

I used the filter in my small salon suite while performing nail services. I was getting dry burning eyes because of the fume exposure from acetone and Gel Polish. It was also nice to have when I was performing pedicures from all of the dust from filing. The filter was great at removing the airborne particles. I would also let it run when I left the room with the door shut and come back to an odor free suite. As for home use, I keep it running in my bedroom, especially at night, knowing I am breathing in much cleaner air. I applied a strong peppermint essential oil to a tissue and placed it on the intake side of the unit to test the ability of odor filtering. I was happy to note that there was absolutely no smell present in the output. I sometimes turn it around when its stuffy so the air being exhausted blows on me, like a fan. Great filter!
