Hoover PowerDash Pet Compact Carpet Cleaner, Shampooer Machine, Lightweight, FH50700, Blue

Our carpet is over 10+ years old and between kids and pets... well it needed some love. Usually have Stanley steamer do it for us but then we have to vacate house to let the carpets dry properly. Was very skeptical of this product. Happy to say Im sold! Works great! Brought my carpet back to new! Was able to do it in sections to work around traffic to allow drying. Drying time seemed less as well. Definitely recommend and would purchase again. Economical as well. About 100$ (90 for machine 20 for solution)cleaned my whole house and still have solution left over!

This is a great tool to have! Easy to use….not too bad to clean. I can’t see using it for carpeted home but we have found it to work well in area rugs (our house is all laminate). Here are the tips I have learned after a year: 1. Vacuum well first using your regular vacuum not this product 2. I have tried a few cleaning solutions and found that Woolite pet stain and odor remover works best. Use the same amount as directed. 3. Do rinse at least once if not twice. Just refill the bottle with water. This is a game changer in my opinion. Getting the soap at least mostly out keeps the rug from attracting everything. 4. You have to clean the machine a bit as you go because it will pull-up and soak fibers that wad up and get thrown from the spinner…these wads are filthy. Watch out for the drain filter where it goes into the dirty water holding tank…it’s small and hair/fibers build up. Overall very happy with this purchase. Much easier to use than a rug doctor. Have had this cleaner since October 2021 and overall its a great cleaner for the price point. It is not a professional grade unit, but it does a very good job for home use. There are three drawbacks I can list: • SMALL TANKS - First, both the cleaning solution tank and the dirty water tank are small. So if you have a lot of square footage to clean, you will need to stop frequently to empty the dirty water and refill your cleaning solution. • INADEQUATE SUCTION - Secondly, the suction power is less than with a commercial cleaner so (a) youll need to go over each area slowly and multiple times, and (b) youll probably need to go over each area again with water only in order to make sure theres no residue left behind. • CHEAPLY MADE PARTS - And lastly, at least in my case, the cleaning solution tank was very cheaply made and after only about half a dozen uses it broke. Just before writing this review I was all ready to clean my carpets when I discovered the cap for the tank had deteriorated since the last use, so I had to go to Hoovers website to order a replacement part. After only half a dozen uses, thats disappointing. I have messaged Hoover after ordering the replacement part. Hopefully they will refund the purchase price to make it right. If so I will update this review.

I used the Hoover PowerDash on multiple light-colored 8X10 area rugs around my home and was really impressed with how much deep-set dirt & soil this compact cleaner pulled up. We have cats, and we also have the area rugs in high foot traffic areas of our home. After about 2 1/2 years of just using a regular vacuum on our rugs, I noticed the gray & cream colors were looking dingy. There were also a few faint stains on our family room rug from normal living wear & tear. I ordered this PowerDash based on positive reviews, and I am really glad I did. For the liquid formula I poured into the cleaner, I used the Bissel Pro Max Clean & Protect liquid formula for Upright Carpet Cleaners, and poured it in this Hoover Power Dash Upright Pet Carpet Cleaner with warm water, following the instructions that come with the Hoover Power Dash Cleaner. After one cleaning, my rugs look completely revived. My husband and I were shocked at how much dirt was in the rugs that we did not even realize. The Cleaner also lifted the faded stains, some that had been set for a good 2 years. I forgot how bright my rugs originally were! The PowerDash cleaner is lightweight and easy to assemble & to use. I also found it relatively easy to clean out the dirty water container. It just requires you to dump the dirty water and then you may have to pull out a few clumps of carpet fiber that the cleaner lifts because of the strong suction. A few tips: definitely use warm water, and go slowly when pushing & pulling the Cleaner during use. The clean water/formula tank is small, so I had to fill it twice to clean the full surface of one 8X10 area rug. The process of filling the water/formula tank is really easy so it is not a big deal, but I would recommend buying an extra bottle of the liquid cleaner to have on hand for cleaning if you plan to clean larger surface areas. All but one of our rugs were brand new 2 1/2 years ago when we moved into our home. The new thicker rugs all washed up really well and felt soft & fresh after the cleaning. The only advice I would give is to be careful with older or more delicate rugs. The suction of the carpet cleaner is strong, so it does suck up carpet fibers. We have one hall rug that is a little older/thinner, and the carpet fibers on that rug were a little delicate/brittle for the suction of the PowerDash. The rug is clean after use, but you can almost see where some of the fibers on this older rug were thinned out from the cleaning. But on all of our newer, thicker rugs, the cleaner sucked up the dirt & soil beautifully and left the rugs feeling really soft and clean. Overall, super pleased with this purchase. I am impressed with how powerful this cleaner is for something so lightweight and relatively inexpensive compared with other cleaners.

I purchased this rug cleaner to clean up after my new puppy. The product is just amazing! It is easy to use and clean. It also pulls dirt out of the carpets with so much ease and the carpet dries up quickly!

I bought this carpet cleaner because I was looking for something that was easier to maneuver than my full-sized carpet shampooer. I love how lightweight it is. The water reservoirs are smaller, so you need to fill/dump more often, but I expected this as a trade off. The PowerDash cleaned very effectively. Im very happy with the results. I have to go over the area cleaned 3 times to extract all the water, but I have to do the same thing with my big shampooer. I read some complaints about this in reviews, but I really dont see how an carpet cleaner would extract the shampoo an more effectively without damaging the carpet. This is a compact carpet cleaner and it doesnt clean as wide a path as a full-size machine. But, if you prioritize having a lightweight solution over getting the job done faster, the Hoover PowerDash Pet Advanced Compact Carpet Cleaner will probably work well for you.

Ive been married 50 years..5 kids, numerous pets, and now grandkids. This is the easiest, and best shampooer Ive ever used. It is lightweight, cleans the worst , dried up spots!

I have never used a carpet cleaner like this before so I have no idea if it is better or worse than others. I bought this to clean the carpet in my apartment because I didn’t feel like vacuuming alone got it clean. I was right, this cleaner pulls a whole lot of nastiness out of carpet. The biggest surprise was how much hair my top-of-the-line vacuum misses. This cleaner easily gathers up the excess hair and fuzz and turns it into wads of gray chewed-up looking clots that resemble rat fur. Very disgusting, but helpful since most of it doesn’t get tangled in the inside of the cleaner. After using it several times, I found the best way to get an area clean was to spray it going forward and backward and then to run the cleaner over each area around 15 times for minimal dampness. I cleaned all the carpeted areas of my apartment with it twice and the water was still pretty cloudy. The solution reservoir doesn’t hold much—it’s enough to do half a mid-sized bedroom and then you are on to the next debacle—cleaning it. Cleaning the cleaner is by far the worst part. Debris gets caught up in the housing around the roller and while you can take it apart to clean it, you have to remove some screws and it is a pain. The dirty water reservoir is hard to empty. There is a handy little strainer that looks like a coffee k-cup that you can pop out and rinse off so that is handy. The downside is that you have to empty and refill the cleaner a lot unless you’re just using it for a small space or a rug. It came with a sample of pet odor neutralizing cleaning solution and that is what I purchased for continued use and I do not care for it. It smells vaguely like floor cleaner but mostly like pencil lead. It did neutralize the pet odor after two uses—I had an elderly cat who had a few accidents in the last days of her life. I doubt this would make much difference if there had been more urine or a stronger urine odor. The smell dissipated over 12 hours with the window open and fans on to dry the carpet completely. This mentions stairs—I could not use it on my standard-size carpeted stairs. It is bulky and can’t cover the whole stair going side to side, and there isn’t enough suction to dry them out if you try to go at them from the front. For the love of dog, do NOT add the solution to the reservoir before the water. The instructions explicitly say to add it last and there is a reason for that. Overall, I would say the product works okay but if I had it to do over again I would have just had professionals come and clean the carpets for me. I can’t wait to move somewhere with no carpet!

This is a great, light weight steam cleaner. It came with a silicone drip mat to sit it on, and tools to clean out the brush or hose. It has handheld attachment too! Im very impressed and happy with this hardworking machine. It left my rugs looking lovely and refreshed.

well 1st easy to assemble,to take the nozzle cover off is very difficult for me.
