Valves base station had mount for the wall abd the power line was much longer. But this one the line was waaay shorter and you didnt get a mount for it. As expected of vive. The only reason I purchased this was because of shortage with valves stock.

Havent been able to use the one I got yet because they are not compatible with the first generation base stations. Dont expect to buy only one and have it work with the old ones you already have. Buy two.

Worth the extra 50$ cause valve unable to stay instock or ship within the 1week window and paying 200$ for each too get em 1 or 2 days on time instead of waiting the long 2-3 mouths anyway going from og vive base stations 1.0 to 2.0 huge improvement uses bluetooth to update the hardware easy set up easy to do from the pc change the base stations channel on the pc and not move or touch the base stations to update or fix note be sure to turn off base stations when your done using em so they last longer hope this helps all questions buyers have

This light house has a markup of $50 compared to the steam store light house, but at least I can order it lol. Also it doesnt come with mounting hardware which seems odd but a 3 pack of mounts is really cheap and I like them better than the mounting hardware that comes with the index.

If you have a valve index, remember how you get those nice mounting plates in the box? Yeah these dont have that. All you get is the brick and power. You have to buy your own mount. And these cost $50 more. But they work perfectly fine with steam VR with my original base stations.

The first two I bought were fine for a week before one went out and the other one sounded like one of the sensors broke. Got it replaced and the same exact thing happen. Also, all four them do not match the boxes nor the back of the lighthouses. Also, yes thats how faded the lettering on the back is brand new. Im more then certain these are refurbished, and passed off as new. This is a scam, and someone should look into this more.

The item was broken and blinking red when arrived. Manufacturers warranty was also out when attempting to get support. HTC and Amazon were very understanding and walked me through troubleshooting steps before reaching a return. Have since purchased another and it works flawless. It even connected to my PC through bluetooth automatically, which the previous one never did.

I wanted to buy two base stations for my VR setup in June but Valve was out of stock at the time. Amazon came through with these. If you set them up properly for standing or room experience, they work great. Key point, dont leave them on all the time. The lasers inside spin at extremely fast RPM and you will wear out the base stations over time. Thats very important. With bluetooth this is easy, but wired, you have to manually unplug the power to the base stations. I left mine on for two months and I felt like a complete imbecile. Thankfully, I only play VR games infrequently because Im busy. They still work fine, but Ill be monitoring them over time for stability and performance issues.

Now with wide-area tracking, base station 2.0 powers the presence and immersion of room-scale, virtual reality by helping the Vive Pro or Vive Pro eye headsets and Controllers track their exact locations. Features wireless syncing.
