i had a dongle issue where when i would turn on my pc, the headset wouldnt get power. so i would have to turn on my pc and wait a couple of seconds and then plug in the headset for it to get the power. may just be defective one. but it is a thing to keep in mind. other than that, sound quality is phenomenal, especially for gaming and comfort is 100% great!

I am more of a fan with wired headphones as they do provide a better sound quality with the wire in my opinion. I no longer have to worry about disconnect or charging my headset. These do work for both mac and windows. It can work for most game consoles as well, but it is more optimized for computer gaming. These headphones are really nice and well built. They are on the pricier side for wired headphones but I think they are worth the price for the quality they provide. Another thing to note is that these headphones are huge and will definitely cover your ears. They are however pretty light even with the bigger size. It does have leather foam for the ear cushions and the sound can be adjusted via a volume wheel on the side. I have not seen too much issue with the volume or even how comfortable these headphones are. They are extremely nice for fitting and comfort. They can be adjusted so if you feel pressure or uncomfortable you can change that. It does take a few uses for the leather to really feel comfortable on you. Also note to keep this away from anything hot or warm as it could cause the leather to crack or break over time. Also be aware that this may irritate your skin over time if you tend to sweat. The sweat mixed with the rubbing from the leather can cause discomfort or irritation. Like a pair of shoes, you have got to break the headphones in. There are no issues with the headphone jack. I do not really hear it effect the sound quality by that much and the sound quality is really good so far. It has surround sound and you can control the sound on the headphones themselves, but there are controls on the cables themselves if you want. The microphone definitely picks up my voice very easily and clearly. In term of blocking out surrounding nose, you have to really make those adjustments. Without a wind guard on the mic you tend to hear a lot of wind blowing especially if you have a fan on you. The device is also very easy to adjust in my opinion to make it definitely feel very comfortable. The black color is great and you can adjust the color of the headphones however you see fit. The picture shows it blue and orange but you can change them to fit more of your computer color scheme. For cleaning, I would say if you can just to wipe it down with alcohol wipes after use and to keep it out of the sun to avoid the leather part from cracking. It is very easily fitting to any head with the adjustment. I have a big head but it fits pretty well and comfortably. The microphone is also adjustable and you can mute the microphone directly on the headphones. Overall I really like these headphones from JBL. They can be pricey but they are worth the money over most other headphones in this price range. It is not wireless which can be a bit of a bummer but make up for it in sound quality. You can also remove the microphone and cable if you happen to need to either replace or travel with these headphones. The cables are made of pretty strong material so you are able to avoid fraying or damage. There is no wind guard on the microphone so you can get ambient noise. It is definitely a product I would recommend for anyone who wants a powerful headset (wired) and works with many different devices.

PROS: Excellent sound quality Extremely comfortable No extra software needed Easy access controls Works with virtually any gaming device CONS: Virtual surround limited to USB devices Mic performance is a bit flat From a sound standpoint, the HyperX Cloud Revolver delivers in a big way. The sound was clear, the highs and mids were clean with no distortion. During both gaming and music sessions I was extremely impressed. Bass is clean and crisp and doesn’t get muddled in with the other sounds but it is not so overbearing that it drowns out the rest of the sounds. Whatever software your PC comes with to control and EQ, you can change it. The microphone quality is just OK. For gaming its perfectly fine as well as for Skype calls, team speak, etc. You really don’t need studio quality microphone for those activities. For studio quality recording the mic was a bit weak, granted I was able to reduce some of the pops and background noise using the options for my sound card. For me, the Revolver is extremely comfortable but that may be different for everyone as we all have different head shapes and sizes. The suspension style makes it feel lighter than similarly sized headsets and the ear cups feel great. During long sessions, I noticed or didn’t notice rather, that the ear cups were pressing into the side of my head. From a comfort standpoint, the headset is one of the most comfortable that I’ve worn. With motherboard manufactures spending so much time on their integrated sound solutions, I’m glad to see that Kingston hasn’t tossed the built-in sound card out the window by going USB. The way I like things, the HyperX Cloud Revolver does a great job of sound reproduction. The ear cups do a great job of cutting down on the ambient noise as well. Priced correctly, no rip-off or gold high pricing, I think the HyperX Cloud Revolver is priced right for the sound quality that you’ll get out of the earphones but, don’t expect studio quality recording from the mic. However, for what I use the headset for which is gaming, the quality of the mic meets my needs. Comfort, performance and price net the Kingston HyperX Cloud Revolver Headset the Modders-Inc Must Have award.

Sounds great with 7.1 surround...I often get startled when gaming using these because you forget you are wearing them and the directional sound is pretty good as well.

Another great headset from Hyperx! I have the cloud 2 wireless and the revolver x is just wow! It is comfortable, has outstanding sound, and just feels right. The mic works great and it has awesome 7.1 surround. The only gripe I have is that the 7.1 messed with discord, in that I couldnt get audio with it engaged, so that was the only minus really. Highy recommended for a great quality headset!

Comfort: You’ll need a giant melon for these to work. My 7&1/4 hat size just doesn’t have enough distance between the ears to get the cups parallel because the cup articulation is so limited. On top of that, the headband tensioner is really weak-sauce. These keep drifting down to perch on my masseter muscles, which is disconcerting and uncomfortable. I really hate wearing these. On an expense vs comfort scale, of all the $100 plus headphones I have these are easily the least comfortable. 7.1 setup Easy-Peasy, and on this set of cans at least, the included virtual 7.1 sounds better to me than virtual atmos piped through the TRRS jack. Sound: With the 7.1 dongle lit up, the bass rolls off and these sound better. In game sounds and voices sound natural and I was able to get the position information that I want in-game...but the dongle is a downer. Just hooked up to TRRS listening to tunes and doing calls on my iPad: No dongle with the iPad, so mute is on-screen which is perfectly fine, but bass is way out front. Listening to Jimi H “Born Under a Bad Sign” you can really pick out the bass part, way beyond “warm” sound towards broken. For $150 these should sound so much better. Dongle & controls: There are no headphone-mounted controls, so you’re left with the dongle on USB. On the dongle you can set levels for mic and headset on a couple of sliders, mute the mic, or turn virtual surround on/off. You can clip the dongle to yourself but there’s no good way to tape it or lay it on a desk because the clip is fixed. The dongle isn’t awesome. I’d maybe go so far as to say that it’s poorly thought out, even bad. Other stuff: Packaging is fantastic. Really nice looking box. $150 headphones with a non-replaceable cord... Really? Ear cups are gigantic. No matter how huge you outer ears are, these cans will cover them.

After continuously buying headsets for my son, we decided to try these out. Definitely worth the price. The sound is crystal clear.
