Consumer Outlook
> 3 dayI normally like the build and quality of HyperX headsets, but this one falls short. It’s at best a $50 headset, not $150. Way overpriced. Here’s why: 1) It’s heavy. I weighed it at nearly 400g, which is heavier than my other headsets. Including the HyperX Cloud Flight S and HyperX Cloud II Wireless. That’s crazy considering those contain batteries so in theory should be heavier, right? Nope. And that’s not including the weight of the USB audio control mixer which hangs off the cable. 2) The suspension headband is flawed. It has extraordinarily little tension and isn’t strong enough to support the weight of the earcups. As such, when I put the headset on, the headband pushes all the way against the frame, causing the earcups to go further down than is comfortable. I constantly find myself trying to re-adjust only for it to move back down. 3) It’s not comfortable. After a few hours of gameplay, I found my ears were hurting. 4) If you shake your head from side to side, the headset jumps around. And if you look down, the headband falls slightly forward. It doesn’t hold solidly like other HyperX headsets I’ve had. 5) The NGenuity software does not recognize the headset nor the USB audio control mixer. Meaning, there’s no software support or tweaks to be had. No game-chat balance. No mic monitoring. No turning the 7.1 surround sound on/off thru software. You can only minimally control it through the attached USB audio control mixer. 6) The sound quality is subpar. If you want to use these to listen to music, you’ll be disappointed. The treble is muffled/dull (not crisp) and the bass is mediocre. That’s when in standard mode. When in 7.1 mode, the treble is a little cleaner, but the bass mostly goes away (which is good for gaming, not music). There’s no equalizer to tweak this to get better sound quality. Not without using third-party software. 7) There’s no mic mute on the headset itself. Only on the USB audio control mixer. So, if you use this headset without the mixer (such as a console), you can’t mute it. Plus reaching down the cord to press the mute on/off can be challenging without looking (eyes on the game). 8) The USB audio control mixer has a clip on it as if designed to attach to clothing. There’s no good way to attach it to your desk. As such, it slides around and often hangs down adding more weight to the cord. It’s really limited when comparing with the 7.1 USB Audio Controller that comes with the Razer Kraken Tournament Edition. Not only does that have game-mic balance, bass control, and can be customized and controlled by software (for additional features like mic sensitivity, sidetone, and EQ) but is less expensive. That said, it’s not all bad. I found that the 7.1 mode, while playing FPS, worked decently. I was able to clearly hear the positioning of footsteps. And because there isn’t much bass in 7.1 mode, the sound of guns and explosions wasn’t overwhelming. I had considered using the 7.1 USB audio control mixer with a more comfortable headset, but it’s still not anywhere near as good as Razer’s 7.1 USB Audio Controller. (Right now, my ideal setup is to use Razers 7.1 controller with the Bose gaming headset). In summary. This headset isn’t comfortable and is too limited. Not worth the money IMO and there are better--and cheaper-- options out there. HyperX missed the mark on this one.

> 3 dayIve owned the HyperX Cloud Revolver headset for a little over a year now and I am very happy with it. I use these headphones consistently for several hours each day. The audio is very balanced and clear. Ive received complements during gaming/Discord regarding to how clear the microphone is. Being able to completely detach the mic from the headset is a big plus! The earpads and headband are fantastic and I do not experience any pain while wearing this headset. However, the (assuming) vinyl earpad covers are not sufficiently breathable. Moisture will build up in and around the ear. You may want to look into some sort of breathable earpad covers if you will be using these for hours at a time. I cannot comment to how effective the 7.1 surround sound feature is as I have not played any games where positional audio is used/well implemented. I just leave the feature turned on as it mostly serves as a volume boost, with maybe a little bit of additional clarity. I did pay full price for these and I still feel it was well worth it. I have not seen these on sale myself, but there are used/refurbished listings that are significantly cheaper. If you get can get them new, and at a discount, all the better.

> 3 dayThis is the 5th pair of HyperX headphones Ive ordered. It hasnt been that weve needed to replace them due to breaking or anything, just everyone in our family has a pair. Myself and my husband both use this set now since he wanted to upgrade from the older Revolver set that was red for the 7.1 surround sound effect. Couldnt be happier! I love the headsets so much I bought a keyboard too!

> 3 dayMy old headset was getting wore out and I came across this one. Probably a little more costly than what I normally would spend but it was within my budget and decided to splurge hoping that it would be worth it. And I think it certainly has been. Immediately I noticed it felt lighter and more comfortable on my head than other products Ive used. The bands make it fit snug on my head but the softness of the ear pieces made it so comfortable and I didnt really feel that pressure you can get with some headsets. And it all feels very breathable. Ive had issues with old headsets that make me sweat but these I didnt really have that issue with. The Sound took some getting used to cause It wasnt what I was used to. It felt more muffled than other headsets but the sounds I wanted to hear felt more clear and the surround sound feels very genuine. Perfect for fps gameplay. I never really used the Mic, though I like that the option is there and that I can also remove it. Quality item w/ very few issues and Im glad I purchased it. For me, it was worth the extra I spent over another brand.

Greater than one weekThis is a fantastic headset from hyper x, the build quality is fantastic and it supports both pc and console. The sound quality is great and it even features 7.1 surround sound. The headset is very comfortable for long sessions as is the case with most HyperX headsets. Overall its a great headset and a must buy for the gamer in your life.

> 3 dayI bought this headset on sale for maybe $80-$90 on black friday, and Ive seen it listed around there frequently. Do NOT buy them for anything higher. If I would have paid the $150+ I see them listed here for, Id be returning them immediately. They do nothing to justify that price. Pros: -Sound quality is OK -Build quality is very good -Mic quality is good -Comfortable for short-medium term use (up to 4 hours) Cons: -Wire is very short. If youre not using a laptop or have your desktop *right* next to you, youll likely want to buy an extension -Uncomfortable for long term use. Anything over 4 hours and youll want to take breaks due to how tight the headset is (nonadjustable) I had the cheaper HyperX stinger before, and in comparison, these are just a little bit better. The sound quality here is a touch better, but these are also MUCH less comfortable for long term-use. I never once had to take the Stinger off for being uncomfortable, no matter how long I used it. I really dont think theres much justification to buy these over the Stinger tbh. If I could magically replace these without any hassle and save some money by buying a stinger again, I think I would.
