> 3 daySuper sticky black tape. Need a blade to cut it. Pain in the behind if need to remove it. Stops the water.

> 3 dayThis was easy to apply. We put it on all of ours joists for a 26 foot long deck. Time I’ll tell if it helps the wood hold up. I only wish it was a little stickier.

Greater than one weekWe used this when building the base of our deck. Great value. Easy to install on the wood beams.

> 3 dayWell, this joist tape is sticky. It is black and it is thick. Easy to peal and apply. It is super sticky so it stays where it is put, and is hard to remove once it is set. I used this to cover the top edge of the 30 year old beams and joists when I replaced the decking boards on my deck. Will it work? Will it prevent rot? It seems like a good idea. I will never know. By the time that the deck boards are removed years from now I likely will not be here to find out. Others have noted that they found it hard to cut. I have some advise. Do not use a knife. Scissors work best. It took some practice but I found that I had to cut steady and slowly so as not to cause the tape to separate from the plastic backing. If you get any of the sticky goo on your scissors, you are done and need to clean the scissors before cutting again. I used a clean rag and some carb cleaner to refresh my scissors when they got gummed up.

> 3 dayGood tape, very sticky.. Ill see how well it holds up over the life of this new deck. My advice is to not put it on when its above 90 outside cause the backing is harder to control due to the heat.

> 3 dayVery easy to apply. Sticks well and until you press it firmly in place you can usually reposition it. I dont have any concerns with the tape and recently bought 2 more rolls for the next phase of my deck. After 3 months in the Texas heat, the tape is holding up well.... of course its way too early to rate the durability.

> 3 dayOrdered 7 rolls of Imus to protect our deck frame, because the wider 3 1/8 wasnt available through Amazon we purchased a roll of Trex Protect Beam Butyl Tape 3 1/8 as well. As far as I can tell the two products are exactly the same, right down to the pattern of packaging - the cellophane tape used to secure the roll has the same taping pattern and cut marks. The Imus is less expensive also! As far as the actual material goes, its very confidence inspiring - heavy, durable and the adhesive is AMAZINGLY sticky. In fact if youre used to Grace Vycor, you are in for a surprise...we were not expecting just how aggressive the adhesive is. Excellent and well worth the cost, we spent about $200 on our deck.

Greater than one weekUsed the tape on an existing outdoor deck that I was replacing the boards on . As long as the joists are dry the tape sticks well , if they are wet doesnt stick well . I installed a few weeks ago so no idea on longevity but it looks like it should last a long time .
