Nice solid knife, can not beat it for the price. Handle is great for gripping with or without gloves. Its a must have.

I rated this knife at 5 stars because its a quality-made, affordable knife. I was a bit worried, reading others reviews about it not coming sharp, but mine came very sharp. Although it doesnt look sharp, a paper-cut test verified that it was. I would definitely recommend this knife to anyone. Kydex sheath offers an excellent friction hold, so the knife doesnt fall out, also has a retention strap for the handle, as a fail-safe.

Okay, first of all...its a K-BAR. Very light compared to one I carried years ago. Thinner and sharper. Advances in steel technology, I guess. Great balance and grip. Yeah, its not cheap but if youre expecting wet work now is not the time to pinch pennies. Look at other legit combat knives...what prices are they running?

WOW! This is absolutely the finest materials and the finest construction quality. Its perfectly balanced and feels great in hand. Razor sharp right out of the box. I compared the glass filled nylon/hard plastic sheath to the leather sheath, and the plastic sheath is definitely the right choice. Thats hard for me to admit, because I hate plastic. It locks securely into the sheath without snapping the nylon strap restraint, which makes for easy retrieval (and after all, isnt that what you want in a survival knife). American made and well worth the price. There should be no reason to hesitate buying this KA-BAR knife over other brands of survival knives. Its the real deal!

Very nice looking knife

Both knife and sheath far exceeded my expectations. Its been 30 years since my first Ka-Bar and Im so happy that the quality still stands up. Well done, Olean! Excellent product.

Thing reeks of quality. After examination it is clear why many branches of the military issue it. The butt end is solid metal and the blade is full tang. It is made in the USA. It arrives promptly. The sheath is awesome: you will see many negative reviews about the sheath-- dont listen. It has plenty of strap/string/belt options and has a button strap around the rear-most part of the handle for retention. It also has thumb/finger release little knobby things at the hilt-- yes, you can easily pull the blade from those, but if security is an issue, youd have the button strap locked; if not: the added retention keeps it from popping out while running or hanging or whatever your assassin ass is doing. Buy with confidence-- it sweet.

This knife is a beauty. I bought it for my son-in-law who is a combat veteran. I have had my Dads WWII KA-Bar fighting knife for 50 years and the leather sheath is still like new. This knife has great balance and a great looking black blade, I know my son-in-law will love it.
