> 24 hourHandle bent 30 minutes into my field test. I was not exceeding the limits for this knife. Must have been a dud. Ive been collecting knives for 20+ years and have never seen a ka bar bend the way this one did. Almost seemed like it was a fake? Not sure how to tell. My mora companion was able to finish the job when my ka bar failed. Doesnt seem right to me that a tiny mora would beat out a ka bar, especially with chopping tasks. I am still giving this 5 stars due to the fact the problem is being resolved and the knowledge that these things happen. Ka bar knives are amazing. One dud wont change my opinion of their knives. I am returning and buying it again. I will review again once I receive it

> 24 hourThis is the first review Ive written on Amazon. There are a lot of quality items Ive purchased over the years, which Ive never left reviews for, but I felt I had to finally make an exception for this knife. The KaBar is a badass knife hands down. Its sharp, it has a nice weight to it, the grip feels amazing and it looks great. I didnt know what the Kraton G grip would feel like and I assumed it would feel like a hard plastic, similar to a Zy-Ex handle like Cold Steel uses. Thats how it looks in the pictures anyway. The Kraton G grip is more of a hard rubber which really gives it a nice feel and keeps it from slipping out of your hand. I even got the handle wet and it still grips extremely well, not as slippery as others were saying. Whenever I get a new knife, I always attempt to shave a little bit of hair off my arm as a test. Although this knife is very sharp out of the box its not sharp enough to shave with. I definitely dont plan on shaving with it and maybe its not meant to be that sharp, but for general purpose cutting and slicing, the Kabar should perform very well. Overall, this knife feels really solid and balanced in my hand. For an inexpensive, quality knife/cutting tool you cant go wrong here. If anything, Id say to do your research on whether or not you want or need the serrated edge option. I felt I would get more use out of the serrated edge Kabar and its a nice option to have just in case. A non-serrated blade will be a bit easier to hone when the time comes to touch up the blade. And definitely go for the upgraded sheath.

> 24 hourLove it! Very well made knife, to be expected from Ka-bar. Razor sharp. Tectured handle makes for great grip. Light weight, barely notice I even have it on my belt. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is for personal preference on the sheath. I thought I would like the hard sheath because of the thumb release feature but that combined with the flimsy nylon belt loop made it difficult to draw the knife for me. Now if I were to affix the sheath to my leg this might fix that problem, but I have never liked any sort of leg holstering system (I just dont like the way the belt/strap feels around my leg). Something to keep in mind if this is the sheath you decide to get. I am keeping this one to use on my molle gear but I am buying a leather sheath from ka-bar for everyday carry.

> 24 hourThis is just a bad @ss knife that will do anything you want it to do. Highly recommended for those in need of a medium fixed blade.

> 24 hourThe KA-BAR is a great knife for specific applications, just remember this thing is BIG. Your not going to be attaching it to your edc bag or trying to have it concealed on your body. There are other knives for that purpose.
