> 3 dayIf its really snowy and icy outside, these are ideal. They wouldnt be great for running, but they definitely prevented me from slipping even in the worst conditions. I love them!

> 3 dayGreat item. Some have said they dont go far enough back on the heels. I guess it depends on your shoe size. I wear a 10.5 -11 . I ordered a large and they fit perfect. Spikes go to the back of the heel, as well as to the toe. They definitely wont be sliding off, and seem pretty solid. So far I am very happy with them. I will be using them in the Smokey mountains in a couple of weeks, I will post another review afterwards.

> 3 dayI have tried several brands of spikes over the years, and never loved any of them the way I love these. I just got back from a long walk where I encountered ice, mud, slush, and crusty snow. These things provided a solid grip on the ground, and not once did they fall off! Crusty snow has pulled off every single other pair of spikes I’ve tried, but not these! I think I’m in love…

> 3 dayLast year a good friend urged me to try his pair as we hiked an icy trail. I was sold within ten steps. After the hike, I went home and ordered these.I carry them with me, November to April. I took a solo hike today (Sunday) on the same trail. It was a beautiful day, after a lot of cold, so many hikers were out. The trail was again very icy. Seemed like eight out of nine of the sunday hikers coming my way said, Wow, I wish I had some of those. Had absolutely no problems where most everyone else was slipping and sliding. I love these babies. They really work. Are easy to put on and take off. Cant say enough. If youre tempted, yield to the temptation. Youll be glad.

> 3 dayI had never hiked in the winter before and saw someone using spikes so I asked a friend who hikes in winter what she recommended. Kahtoola microspikes was the only thing shell use. I am amazed at this product. Ice, snow, wet leaves, anything. No slip, no slide, great hikes! Ive had 5 knee surgeries on one of my knees and had been worried about slipping but not anymore! I managed to lose the nylon tote that came with them and I contacted the seller and they are sending me a new one free of charge! Great service, amazing product. I am looking forward to years of fabulous hikes with my dog all over, in all weather. Thank you!

> 3 dayBought the XL for my size 11 pack boots. Fit great and are much better than the cheaper versions I have bought before. Never made it more than a few outings before they would tear, break, or get lost. Bought the red ones, they are easier to see in the dark to put on. Suck it up and spend the extra money, youll be happy.

> 3 dayWanna feel like spider man? These spikes will do it for ya! They are nice and snug on my boots. I do, however, prefer hiking in my tennis shoes and they get a tad loose on the heel. Youll love em!

> 3 dayThese are very well made and provide great traction. Using them for muddy clay hiking in Hawaii and for slippery rocks. Highly recommended.

08-06-2025I just ran a winter trail run 10K. Conditions were snow and ice, about 5inches, and terrain was hilly with some really steep embankments. Part of the trail run crossed an ice covered lake. I wore the Kahtoola MICROspikes and Im glad I did! I had great traction both climbing steep slopes and on twisting downhill segments. I never slipped during the 10 K, but i cant say the same for some of my fellow trail runners. I saw a fair number losing traction and at least one casualty with what appeared to be a broken ankle (Yikes!). I have a friend who let me borrow a pair of Yak Trax for a 5 K in similar conditions, and I felt the MICROspikes were definitely better for traction. They are easy to slip on and dont require a strap over the instep of my shoes. I highly recommend them!
