Kahtoola MICROspikes Footwear Traction for Winter Trail Hiking & Ice Mountaineering

> 3 dayI bought these after having two experiences this winter, one on a hike on an icy trail in the Colombia River Gorge, and one trying to walk across my brothers frozen driveway. I had many recommendations for them from fellow hikers, so ordered a set using the sizing guide. When I received them I tried them on my hiking shoes. They went on easily and fit the shoes nice and securely, with no slackness. I have not had a chance to hit the trail, or an icy driveway yet, but judging by the spikes these should do just fine.

Greater than one weekPure awesome. I did some climbing with my girlfriend in the Adirondacks during winter and you can walk on sheer ice with no issues. They work so well for hiking in snow and ice.

> 3 dayIm a huge fan of YakTrax, but I bought these for those times in Michigan when the sidewalks are not just snowy, but icy. I pulled them out after an ice storm recently, and they worked like magic! Really the only way I could tell it was at all slick out was from the skid marks I could see on the thin layer of snow on top of the ice where other people had obviously slipped. The grip of the spikes is nothing short of incredible. My main complaint is that after only an hour and a half of wear, I wore through the chains on the back part of the product (where it fits over the heels of my hiking boots). Since the spikes are so amazing, Ill look into having the chains on this part of the product replaced, but I am disappointed that they wore through so quickly.

> 3 dayUp here in the northeast we have had mostly snow then freezing rain and ice. These Kahtoola MICROspikes are the best solution for those of us who want or need to get outdoors. I can walk anywhere I want to, from the woods to frozen driveways without problems. Until now I have used Y###### but these are much better and safer on frozen surfaces. Once I got it down I can slip these on in less than a minute for both. Its probably not a good idea, but I can drive my vehicle and get in and out for sanding purposes being careful not to hook them on the mat, the pedals are no problem. I have walked into my plywood floor shed, into the house entrance carpet, and across paved roads without a problem. The main reason I bought these was to do exterior house inspections and photos. Being able to go from frozen snow banks to steep icy yards to walkways without a problem has more than paid for them first time out. Size L for 12 1/2 4e shoe and 12 w boot.

> 3 dayReceived these as a present at the onset of the winter of 13/14 with 90+ inches of snow in Michigan. We have a somewhat inclined driveway (4-6 degrees) and ice easily builds up under the snow. Without these spikes there is no way I could push the blower up the driveway. On flatter surfaces I was able to gain traction and keep the snow blower moving. I used the spikes at least 10 times this winter and they worked great without any issue. Other products I owned in the past had a tendency to slip off either the toe or the heel. The tight fit of the rubber collar on these spikes did not even come close to being pulled off my boots.

> 3 dayThis is my second pair of Kahtoola Microspikes. I wore my first pair so much for three winters that the spikes had flattened out and I had to buy a replacement pair. These spikes are the right depth for traction on our steep driveway and for walking the icy sidewalks when I take my dog out for exercise. My neighborhood is very hilly and I use to cut my dog walks short because of fear of falling but not anymore. Two of my neighbors saw my spikes and asked me what kind they were and where I bought them. Now there are three of us in my neighborhood wearing Kahtoolas! Wish I had found these years ago....

Greater than one weekIve had a cheap set of walking spikes for years and they generally worked well for preventing falls on icy patches. Unfortunately, in January I took a horrible fall that left me concussed and in pain for weeks. I purchased a set of Microspikes after reading the reviews on Amazon and must say I completely agree with the positive reviews that this product has received. It is such a relief to walk on icy surfaces without the fear of another fall. I love my walks with my dog and because of this product, I can once again enjoy them fully. As to the product itself, the spikes are easily put on and taken off, so I can keep them in my car or carry them into work. Despite this, they fit securely on both my boots and shoes and are very stable. I could not suggest a better product for everyday use on icy terrain.

Yup
Greater than one weekWay better than other gripping shoe attachments! These are more rugged and very comfortable to use. I wear a ladies 9, and this medium size just about makes it on my boots. Order larger if you wear a bigger size! Maybe the sizes listed are based on shoes, not boots?
