I have about 10 smart outlets installed around the house. Half are the earlier versions of these that are big and bulky and cover the entire outlet and the other half are this small, sleek version. I love em. I cant think of a single time Ive had a problem with them. They just work. No resetting necessary. I set schedules for them and/or use them with Alexa and they work perfectly. No need for dang hub either. I get the purpose of the hub to help with network congestion but I havent had any issues with these. Buy them. Do it.

I have 3 other smart plugs which I purchased on Amazon which are working fine. I purchased 2 other smart plugs on Amazon , and I cannot connect either one. The customer support on T-Link is not helpful and difficult to connect with my particular issue. I have no other option than to return the last 2 smart plugs. Please provide customer support for items sold on Amazon if you wish to increase your smart plug sales.

I connected it to my wifi router I wanted so I could power the router off and on I was able to power the router off with the phone but it would not power the router back on with my phone. I returned back to Amazon.

Spent 40 minutes trying to get the plug connected via the Kasa iOS app. No luck. Was about ready to return the thing. Finally tried setup via my Fire HD with the Kasa Android app and it finally worked first try. Plug works as intended now. It has an audible click when turning on and off. The click is much louder than my Wyze plugs. It works, but I probably won’t be buying anymore of these. I prefer the wyze plugs, but needed this one specifically for an Octoprint plugin to turn the printer off after the print job finishes.

I only gave it 4 stars because it’s a very lengthy process to install but once installed; It works great.

This was pretty easy to set up with google assistant. The only issue is having to instal and remove 2x as the google assistant did not respond the first time saying that it was not connected. But Once up and running it’s seamless from there

The plug came in a little carton box with no instructions on how to set it up. I think they should add a QR code on the outside or inside of the box to make the installation of the app easier. You need to download the Kasa Smart app by TP-LINK Research America and create an account. The app is very easy to use and it made it very easy to add the smart plug to the account. I like that the app lets you setup a timer, a schedule and an away schedule. It doesn’t have the option to track how much electricity it has used, but it keeps track of how long the plug has been on. After setting up the smart plug, Alexa recognized the smart plug right away after turning on the TP-LINK Kasa skill. So far, it has worked really well. Besides not having instructions in the box, I don’t like that it makes a loud click when you turn it on or off. I don’t see any sparks coming out of it, but the sound makes me feel like it’s going to stop working if I use it frequently.

Ive used astronomical timers for some time but have noticed the ones I currently have (Intermatic brand) are pretty sucky. Two of my outdoor ones failed after several years, the replacements dont correctly adjust with daylight savings (sunset/sunrise times stupidly dont adjust), and now my indoor timer just flat out switched time zones to one halfway around the world. The best thing with Kasa plugs is THEY JUST WORK! the outdoor timers were replaced with KASA outdoor plugs, and I love how they just properly work based on what Ive set them too (5 min post sunset). With my luck, it was a no brainer to replace the flaky indoor timer with KASA as well. They have great customization and again, JUST WORK! :)

Im using my Kasa Smart Plug to run my low voltage outdoor landscape lights (transformer in the garage) and one indoor light in my living room. The low voltage transformer has a built-in timer, but its easier to just leave it on and adjust the times via app and my iPhone. Same for the indoor light - it used to be controlled by my home security system, but its easier to adjust via the app.

I got this for my daughters 5 gallon aquarium in order to turn on and off the light. It was really easy to set up through their app and so far (about 1 month later) works perfectly. I would definitely recommend it to all the people as you dont need to be an expert to set it up.
