It works for turning on a circuit but you also must manually turn it off. I wanted it to replace a timer and to turn on a oil filled heater in my bedroom and then turn off the heater after several hours ( 4 or so) but it is not capable of that. You must turn the heater on manually with the app and then turn it off manually with the app every time. I might as well turn it on and then turn it off when needed. I usually need to make a trip to the water closet in about 4 hours anyway! Ill find a use for it somewhere in the future.

The plug came in a little carton box with no instructions on how to set it up. I think they should add a QR code on the outside or inside of the box to make the installation of the app easier. You need to download the Kasa Smart app by TP-LINK Research America and create an account. The app is very easy to use and it made it very easy to add the smart plug to the account. I like that the app lets you setup a timer, a schedule and an away schedule. It doesn’t have the option to track how much electricity it has used, but it keeps track of how long the plug has been on. After setting up the smart plug, Alexa recognized the smart plug right away after turning on the TP-LINK Kasa skill. So far, it has worked really well. Besides not having instructions in the box, I don’t like that it makes a loud click when you turn it on or off. I don’t see any sparks coming out of it, but the sound makes me feel like it’s going to stop working if I use it frequently.

Love this plug! I use it every day to communicate with my Alexa. Super handy.

I have about 10 smart outlets installed around the house. Half are the earlier versions of these that are big and bulky and cover the entire outlet and the other half are this small, sleek version. I love em. I cant think of a single time Ive had a problem with them. They just work. No resetting necessary. I set schedules for them and/or use them with Alexa and they work perfectly. No need for dang hub either. I get the purpose of the hub to help with network congestion but I havent had any issues with these. Buy them. Do it.

Love these plugs! I had been using one Amazon brand plug because I got a great deal on it. I then tried a Kasa tp-link for my second smart plug and I eventually gave away the Amazon one and just got a second Kasa plug. They are much more reliable with my wifi, they are smaller/better looking, Kasa can be used with IFTTT and the Kasa app is great. I highly recommend this product as well as Kasa smart bulbs.

The Kasa items that I have are great, this item is too...but...with the outlet on the front of the device it can make it awkward to use behind a piece of furniture. I wish it had the plug on the side. BUT it is a great, easy to use item IF the application is right.

This is one of those things I didnt think I would need as much as I ended up actually using. I put 2 on a couple lamps, loved them. Work seamlessly with Alexa. Then I ordered a couple more. Then I found out they integrate into the Ring / Alexa Guard alarm system and order a couple more so the alarm system can rotate lights on and off to look like Im home when Im not. Then 2 more for a couple fans. Then another for Christmas lights on the tree... Seriously, they are so handy, youll order more. Might as well just get them up front and save your self some time. LOL

We have 7 of the KASA Smart HS103 WiFi outlets and all are in use. They are high quality, high tech devices that make setting up your home so very simple and easy. You are able to manage from your phone or Alexa any device that is accepted to work with the outlet. Programming is simple and allows easy and complete control of all the outlets. Buy it and prove me wrong:)

Ive used several of these now for the past year. They integrate seamlessly with Alexa, so I can use Alexa to turn my lights on or off using voice commands. You can also set up the Kasa Smart Plug to work like a timer, to turn your lights on or off at specific times or simulate being home with random on and off times. Ive replace most of my previous timers with these and plan to add a few more to eliminate all my prior old-fashioned timers. They have no problem finding my WiFi network. These have a nice small size, so they leave the other outlet on duplex outlets free. Once you have them set up, you can pretty much forget them. They just work like youd expect.

I got this so that I could have my water distiller on a timer. I like to cut it off before its done so that its easier to clean... This plug was easy to set up for that. I wasnt able to get it connected to Alexa or Google (I have both), I think i tried with Alexa for a bit then just said forget it. I only use it for the one appliance anyways.
