Easy to set up. You can either use them from the product app or through an Alexa. Really convenient!

I got my first TP-LINK Kasa plug (There does seem to be several seperate Kasa or TP-LINK brands, I only own TP-LINK Kasa devices, referred to from here on out as just Kasa in this review) bundled with an Echo Dot. I had used WEMO plugs, and figured what problem is 1 non-WEMO plug going to do? Well, it caused me to replace every non Kasa device with Kasa devices! Shortly after I got this, we bought a new home. I packed everything up and set it up at new home. Internet and WiFi settings were different, and I had to re-setup everything, I mean everything! This is were I fell in love with Kasa. The WEMO app had been nice enough when originally setting up, but when it came to having to delete/re-connect things, the WEMO tested the limits of my patience, multiple times. I finally had to delete even the WEMO app and reinstall it. The Kasa app just seemed to flow better, smoother, easier. The Kasa had everything wiped out and setup back up with new name, device icon and label in no time, and then pumped it into Alexa! (I have the Echo Show 10 with built-in Zigbee Smart hub) It had more options when it came to labeling and device icons (what you see when accessing through a smart device like Alexa, Google Home, etc). The plugs I use for lamps or lighting, I like to show as a light bulb, and WEMO just couldnt or wouldnt let me do that. The Kasa plugs are half the size of my WEMOs. They dont block the other plug outlet. They have an independent on/off switch, so you can manually turn on/off plug power. I had multiple WEMO devices, and replaced them with Kasa equals. I am so happy with the ease of use of the app, smooth integration with Alexa Smart Home and overall operations that I just ordered the first pair of Kasa Spot wireless outdoor cameras to integrate into our home security system! I would highly recommend the TP-LINK Kasa mini smart plugs! The app is great too! I was not paid or compensated for this review.

First off, I am just getting into smart home devices so naturally I am a newbie. I have an Ecobee Smart Thermostat with Alexa so I wanted to expand my smart devices. We put up our Christmas decorations, inside and outside. I was getting sick of turning them off individually -- there were times that we forgot to turn them off so they were on all night. After some research, I stumbled upon the Kasa smart plugs which seemed like a dream come true. Comparatively, there were cheaper than the Philips Hue series and the reviews were consistently great. I took a chance and boy, I am extremely happy with these (as well as the outdoor plug). It was as simple as 1-2-3 as far as setting them up. I read a couple reviews saying the app doesnt work and sync with their plugs. Not sure what all the fuss is all about but they worked perfectly fine. Its nice that you can set up a schedule as well as a group so all devices can turn on and off depending on what device youve chosen. Its also nice to say, Alexa, turn on Christmas Decorations and all the lights turn on. Ive also set up Movie Night where the Christmas tree and some window lights turn off so there isnt glare. Overall, I am very happy with these smart plugs and I hope Kasa comes out with more products because I am happy with their products! 10/10 would recommend.

I have used the (2) smart plugs on a few occasions to turn lights on and off when I was away from home. Last week while I was gone from home there was a local power outage and the plugs did not come back online (while other wifi devices did so). I was unable to connect with the plugs from a distance or when I returned home. When I got home I pulled one of the plugs from the outlet and immediately reinserted it. It then connected to wifi and my iPhone along with the other one which I did not touch upstairs. I contacted the company and spoke to someone in the Philippines who sent me a link by email to use a beta tester app that deals with bugs. I dont want to play around with this, simply want a plug that is dependable. I then contacted chat support and was informed that it is a weakness of the design. None of the Kasa plugs apparently is immune to this. Well, it is unlikely that I will have another power outage soon but in my mind this is a limitation of the plug. Ive used it to turn on/off lights in the house so that it appears that someone is home. I think Ill use a standard timer for another light as a back-up when I am away from home in the future. Otherwise the plug is great, very easy to use and adjust schedules.

I used these for my Christmas tree and really loved it. It took a little time to connect to Alexa but overall enjoyed it. I use it now for my lights. I definitely will buy more

I had a hard time getting this set up. I got these on sale so that was good. Wait for a sale for sure. The kasa app was clunky and my WiFi was strong but still I had to jump thru a few hoops to get the connection. Kinda crazy. But after it is set up in Alexa app the plugs work fine.

These work perfectly; they are just a little bulky. They connect easily and stay connected. They work with the Kasa App on your phone like a remote control, and with Alexa so they are very convenient, plus they have an on/off button on the side. I have several and am very happy with them. Just think about where you want to plug it.

These plugs work....that’s it, they work. All of the TP Link smart home plugs and Switches work, and work flawlessly that I can see. The Kasa app is great, works flawlessly as well. I have 8 of these so far, and they are mixed in my home with wall switches (TP Link switch and 3 way switches) to all run with Kasa app that is TP link that then works with the Alexa Amazon Echos throughout the home. These things are truly plug and play. You plug them in, open the Kasa App, and add device and bam, its super easy to follow the directions and add to WiFi in the home. Then open Alexa App on the phone and all of these TP Link items are there in the Smart Home section. It just works, and works flawlessly. The entire system, I add Routines and Scenes and you can do all kinds of cool things. In the Alexa App the Routines, I can turn on lights and play the weather on the Echo and then have it start music. I can say Alexa, turn on the Accent Lighting and it turns OFF the ones that I want off and dont think are accent, and turns on the ones I say to turn on, and it is super easy. The Kasa app also has timers as much as you want. You can set turn on and the time, and create as many as you want, and turn off the same. My Christmas lights indoor and outdoor were all on these indoors and the plugs for outdoors are on switches, so bam those all worked on timers there. Same with my patio outdoor lights. The only glitch Ive had in the months of using these......I switched Broadband Providers from Uverse to Spectrum. The new WiFi router, I set up the SSID to the exact same, same password, and it should have all just connected and never had a glitch. After 2 hours of weirdness, and trying to reset one of them, and get the TP Link to work.....I spent more time online and realized these are 2.4Ghz ONLY. I had set up the 5Ghz Wifi to be the original. I went in and made the 2.4G the old one, and BAM, everything worked FLAWLESSLY again. So, the 5Ghz wave I made the SSID-5G and all was right with the world once again, ha. My wife said this was silliness......she also said that when I got our first DVR 20 years ago......now the DVR is full of HGTV.....and she admits these things are great.
