I normally don’t write reviews but you need to know about this! I always second guess if I unplugged items after leaving home, I have made myself late because I was convinced I left something plugged in that was going to burn the house down, I drive my husband insane second guessing and turning around “just to be sure.” We live pretty remote so until about a year ago we were unable to get internet. I kept seeing Wi-Fi controlled outlets and debated for months and now that I have them it is SO worth it. I can check an outlet from my phone and be confident that it is off even if I left something like a hair straightener plugged in! It has a light on the outlet so you can see when it is off/on, the app is easy to use and has icon options for outlets. This is a game changer for me! No more turning around and no more worrying! It is reassuring when I can look at my phone from 40 miles away and know my home is safe. For reference, I had a timed outlet for a long time before we had WiFi and I will worried that I had accidentally set the timer to “on” rather than 1 hour (no minutes option) so if you have a similar situation I’m here to tell you to order these outlets and go enjoy your life without worrying all the time!

> 3 dayThis is my third purchase and I am definitely fascinated, especially with a puppy at home if we are late the light is turned on directly from the app. We have located in the balcony, each beds side, dining room and kids room. The only problem is that my husband downloaded the app (hes more technological than me) but the Amazon/Alexa account is under my name (Im in charge of the purchases haha) and they dont work correctly, I tried to download the app to also have access and I couldnt because it kept downloading and how I configured the Alexas with my account my husband was left out and now they no longer work through it so we do it from the app. Apart from that are magnificent ..

> 3 dayI had bought the 2 set HS103P2 three years ago, but hadnt had a reason to use it until now. The first one I had no trouble getting it to connect. The second one would not connect. Contacted support and they quickly got back to me and suggested to do a factory reset and info on how to do it. Worked great! Thanks for the great support!

02-06-2025I kinda hate that phrase but in this case its true. These are cheap and they come with the problems of cheap tech. First of all, I havent connected these to Alexa because... well... no Alexa devices (nor do we want any, shes creepy). So I assume it works well with Alexa, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I do have it set up with HomeKit via HomeBridge. This is a home-server kinda deal and takes a bit of technical knowledge to setup but if youre careful following HomeBridges instructions, it shouldnt be difficult for the average person whose buying smart kit. I do have these on a metered, packet-inspected, IoT network and they phone home about as much as youd expect though dont seem to send any more info that is absolutely necessary. I did end up completely blocking them from the internet and route external functions through Home Assistant (a tool like HomeBridge that works along side it to give you great access to non-HomeKit devices as well as IFTTT-like automation). The real drawback on these is that they randomly disconnect from the wifi and dont pick it back up until you physically unplug and replug them. Ive tried just about everything i can think of (and, not to toot my own horn too much, Im an IT Pro and a huge nerd, so Ive covered the feasible options pretty well) to little success. Basically, using these is accepting that you will need to unplug and replug them at least once a month. They do have a little orange disconnected light, so at least its easy to tell when theyve errored out. I have found that running an AI managed network for them helps. Being able to dynamically switch channels, IPs, etc., when they start behaving oddly can maintain functionality longer than even an out-of-the-box unsecured wifi (I got desperate during testing). As for the App it comes with its... not terrible. Setting up a new plug only takes a few minutes and its pretty responsive after that. The App is, however, fugly and generally feels like its an afterthought. Which doesnt inspire trust. I used it pretty much only to set the plugs up then played with it just long enough to realize it sucks. Youll need the app, but if youre going to rely on it rather than using Alexa (probably) or HomeKit youre going ot have a bad time. In the end, theyre cheap, but you need to have the tech skills to compensate for that.

> 3 dayI like TP Link products, I was able to set up all 3 plugs in 10 minutes. bot some other brand wifi plug and had to return them because I could not connect them. Bot TP link router 5 years ago and still going strong. if I knew TP Link has wifi plug, I would have bot them in the first place, not sure why they brand it as Kasa

> 3 dayI wanted an inexpensive way to turn on my light so I wouldn’t come home to a dark home. These work perfectly. I would recommend these.

> 3 dayOutrageously easy to setup and use. Full disclosure: I dont have it it integrated with Alexa or any other smart ecosystem device - just controlling the individual plugs from the Kasa app. If more needed in the future, will absolutely buy again.

> 3 dayIv been using Kasa plugs and power strips and switches for a few years now. They work as expected. Ive only had one bad plug out of over a dozen. I settled on Kasa because TP-link has a history of supporting their products, and indeed, these products continually receive firmware updates, and their Kasa app also receives improvements. In fact, I just received a completely new app update that adds new features which I am only just exploring. You wont get that with your typical cheaper smart plug. I set schedules for these (and base them on sunset and sunrise) through the app. Integrates with Google Assistant and Google Blocks. I have Google Routines for bedtime that turn off all the lights but my beside light, and other Google Routines for my morning. Ive standardized on Kasa and so far (after 4 years) Im glad I did. Recommended.
