Greater than one weekIt doesnt get any better than this. A 60/40 mix has better wetting characteristics, but a eutectic mixture (63/37) is ideal for consistently perfect electronic joints that set bright and shiny if the wire connections are first heated properly (I set my temperature-controlled iron to 700 degrees F). The type 44 rosin flux residue requires a solvent to clean it away (e.g., isopropyl alcohol), but this flux type very effectively cleans metal joints during soldering. Unfortunately, this solder may be impossible to get in the future since the ROHS initiative bans lead. The replacement silver-bearing solders require higher melt temperatures, but Kester will certainly make the best of these solder types, too.

> 3 dayWas dubious of the 63/37 alloy (having grown up on 60/40) and the thin wire until using it. Flowed well and the thin wire required less heat. This is my new go to.

> 3 dayThis is some of the best solder I have ever used. It flows very well and has a consistent melting temp. Kester has been making quality solder since before I was born. You cant go wrong with this solder unless you are looking for lead free solder.
